I come to Goodwill is that I have about seventeen year retail background.
And I was a shopper and a donor for Goodwill.
And I really enjoyed it and I really thought that the concept of Goodwill the
mission that Goodwill support
it was something that I would enjoy too. And I felt like
I wasn't contributing a lot to the company that I was at
so I felt there was something more
out there than just that day in day out of the retail.
Recently I've been with Goodwill for a year. I've been promoted to store manager
after coming out at the training program. The training program is about eight weeks.
The first four weeks you train at a store where you learn the core of Goodwill.
The second week we incorporate what you learned the first four weeks.
During this whole process the team members and the managers
were really supported. Since being new at Goodwill retail
there's a lot of things that are different than other retails.
So the management and the coworkers they mentor me through the whole program
so without them I don't think I would be here today.
Working at Goodwill every day is different you never get the same day twice.
It's rewarding to come to work
that you're supporting the mission and helping the community.
