So today I'm gonna do a quick demonstration of a very simple
crochet cable. You can see there's one cross here. It's a front cross cable
that you'll find in the Cadize Poncho
pattern, from our Spring catalog. So the cable is worked
over four post stitches and the pattern is worked in the round so there's no wrong
side you're always going to be doing front
post double crochets. So the cross
happens on the second and third of the front post stitches So there's one
front post double crochet and then to make the cross,
you're actually gonna skip the second stitch and do a
front post double crochet around the third, just like that
and now you're gonna go back to that second
stitch, and do a front post double crochet around that
second stitch which gives you the crossover
Which is not the easiest thing to see in
this row, and there's that
fourth front post in the fourth stitch.
So it doesn't look like a whole bunch right there
but in the next row it sorta settles itself out.
Alright, so here you are in the next round
so there's the cross in the middle that we did in the last round.
So to do the next round,
again, front post double around the first stitch
and your just gonna do front post doubles but
there's that cross see I can slip my hook underneath that's the one that went
across
that's actually the third one so
our second one hides back here that second one that we did.
So you've kinda gotta dig underneath to find it.
Do your front post, then you can do your front post around this
third one that crossed in front, then you can do the last front post around that
fourth one and that
makes that crossed cable
much more visible. You can see how it crosses over in the front.
