Hi I’m Rosina Wright-Castro, the staff advisor for Project Hope.
I’m Marina and I’m a Peer Educator for Project Hope.
My name’s Eve, I’m also a Peer Educator for Project Hope.
And I’m Yoshua and I’m an intern with Project Hope.
My name is Janen and I’m also an intern at Project Hope.
Project Hope is a student group that is interested in learning and teaching others students about
health related issues. Throughout the school year we like to coordinate lots of programs
and events that help accomplish that mission. We have peer educators, peer health educators
on staff, and peer interns on staff and they’re going to tell you a little bit more about
our programs and services.
Project Hope is always looking for new members. We have meetings every other Monday in room
CC225 at 11:00. If you want more information about the events that are going on campus
you can go to our Facebook at Project Hope SBCC.
Some of the events that we put on campus are a Halloween Event that we’re having in a
few weeks. It’s just basically to promote making safe decisions and different ways of
making better choices about your health.
Another event that we put on is the De-Stress event that we put on right before finals.
It’s all type of techniques to de-stress to make sure that you are eating healthy,
sleeping and having enough sleep and just making sure you’re making good decisions
about how to de-stress.
Some of the issues that our organization as Project Hope deals with is health and wellness.
So for instance, the flu season is around, so we would inform you with how to go about
getting your prescriptions, seeing a personal counselor, or having issues. Or for instance,
if you need condoms or over the counter medication, we would guide you and give you the tools
to get there.
So if you’re interested in becoming aware, taking charge, and embracing change, come
join us at Project Hope.
