Chaos erupted outside court earlier after Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour
charge after a fight outside a Washington hotel over the weekend.
The 24-year-old was arrested on Sunday morning outside the very posh W Hotel, which is just
down the road from the White House.
The fight allegedly kicked off after a man photobombed a picture Chris was taking with
a pair of female fans. According to reports, Chris then punched the photobomber in the
face, leaving him with a broken nose. The singer had been in Washington for a nightclub
appearance before the fight kicked off.
Chris' bodyguard Christopher Hollosy was also arrested and charged with assault.
Christopher Brown commited no crime. We understand that his security acted to protect Mr. Brown
and Mr. Brown's property, as he is authorised to do under District of Columbia law. We are
confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing. Did Chris Brown punch a man? Thank you.
Chris has been on probation since 2009 after assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The judge
set a preliminary hearing for November the 25th, and Chris faces a maximum of six months
in jail if convicted.
