Day 13 - Bucharest - Prague
Welcome to day 13. This is footage from the second train were on. The first one was the night train to Arad, where we slept with 8 people in one cabin.
At about 10 am we arrived and our train to Budapest left some time after 11 am. This is the main train station of Budapest.
The announcements were in German and our group disbanded because we all wanted to go to different directions, so I were alone again.
That was not that much of a problem, though, because from there on it was quite easy. I just needed to get my train to Prague.
I stayed for one night in Prague and I got there at about 11 pm. So I were on trains for about 24 hours. And in Prague I met my host
who insisted to show me around a bit by car as I did not have the time to stay for long because I wanted to leave the next day at 8:30 am.
I had reserved a Deutsche Bahn-ticket for that trip. So I used my Interrail-pass to get from Prague to the Czech border.
Then I buyed a ticket for about 8 Euros to travel from the last Czech station to the first German station ...
and from there on an "Europa-Spezial"-ticket of Deutsche Bahn for 39 Euros from Bad Schandau to Copenhagen. But I will show that next day.
Prague itself is a beautiful city. I had not much time unfortunately but I visited Prague again later on and thus I have footage from the city.
It is quite easy to get there from Berlin. So what do we learn from such a situation?
If possible you should search for alternatives. Do not just look up information about the train you want to take but also about two or three alternatives.
Of course you can only do that if there are alternatives. Sometimes there are not. And you should schedule a lot of time for changing trains.
In any case it felt quite good to arrive in the Czech Republic and to Slowakia. Somehow I had the feeling to be back in civilized countries
as eurocentric as that may be. Well, that was this day. I leave you alone no with pictures from Prague and bring in some music. Until next week!
