I chose to study Nuclear Science because when I was looking at the courses I fancied doing
something different and it's a brand new course that's been put on now and I thought that
would be nice for me to do because I quite like a challenge and I quite like to do things
that are different from everybody else and stand out from the crowd as it were. So I
found it was an appropriate course to do because there's so many different areas as well. It's
just something that seemed really interesting to me to then go into and study.
I chose to come to Birmingham to study Nuclear Science because when I was going round the
open days, I initially selected my list of the top universities for the course I was
looking at and then when I went and looked at those actual universities it felt right
here at Birmingham. There were some other places that really impressed me but when I
came here I got a real feel for this is the right place, this is where I want to be. So
it was just a natural decision for me. There was no doubt about it really.
When I graduate from my course, which is a three year course, I'm planning to look at
then going on to do a Master's in Nuclear Medicine which I then hope to be able to do
in like radiopharmaceuticals, things like that, because that's something that's really
interested me from the start and more the physics side of the Nuclear course. So Nuclear
Medicine ties in quite well there so I think that's where I want to be.
