-With us is activist Abu Muath, today on March 24, 2012 in “Old Homs.”
-Of course, “Old Homs,” as we mean it to be the towns of Baba Sbaa, Safsafe, Bab Hud, Bastan il Dewan…
We are not going to disclose names of individual neighborhoods. All of Homs has been the subject of heavy shelling.
Yesterday, on Friday—I swear by the Almighty God, none of the mosques in Homs took part in their routine athans (“call to prayers”), due to the great deal of shelling.
There was no Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, or Isha athans, yesterday on Friday.
Since 5 AM, around Fajr time, there has been unbelievable shelling on all of Homs.
-We heard that they had taken over the mosques and played “national music” (pro-Assad anthems).
Yes, they even went up to mosques and broadcasted the songs from there.
-As we can see here, this destruction….
Yesterday, more than 1,000 rockets fell on the city of Homs.
Homs, this area that we are in now, has become nothing but remains.
-And of course, these streets are all inhabited by our brothers, the Christians.
This neighborhood that we are walking through is all Christian, mainly.
Where are you Hadeel? Go on Al-Dounia (Syria’s TV network), tomorrow, and talk to Bashar al-Batta. She’ll tell you, “No, this is in Guantanamo.”
