I don't view marketing as the new finance, because I view the relationship between marketing
and finances as a different one. Different in the sense that today, finance has a responsibility
to prioritize against multiple contexts, multiple areas within the organization. IT also has
multiple areas of prioritization, but the relationship with marketing is one of partnership,
is one of collaboration, and is one of devoted responsibility. I think the only way to have
the constrained resource sense of IT to really serve marketing effectively, is to have dedicated
teams. So therefore I view the relationship as different than that of finance.
