This is our Media interface. Through this interface you add
media to your tv channel and create playlists.
This tutorial will take you through how to add media to your
TV channel.
First off, you are going to start by clicking this plus sign
button. It will bring up your add 'media panel' as you can see right here.
As you will notice, TVStation has a built in uploader. However this is not standard
for all the accounts. If for any reason you do not have the uploader and you would like
to add it, contact support and they will ensure you have the uploader.
If you already have the uploader, you can get started easily by clicking the browse
button, and this will bring up a menu where you can go through your hard drive and
choose your video files. So I look for my files and I
want to get this video under Bad Day.
So you see that it will come up on our list, and you can
choose to encode it or not. In this case I will encode it.
I'm only going to do three rates.
Encoding means you are going to encode it into many different
rates, and when your video is playing, based on what the
bandwidth of your user is, it will switch the videos up or
down so that the user gets the best possible playback.
So, once you choose your rates here, I am going to close it
up. Seeing how we have one video here, you can choose to
upload it, so I am going to upload it.
Ok, so it is going to give you this alert right here when
your video is done uploading.
It says: Your selected files have been successfully
uploaded. Please allow some time for your files to be
processed. Completed files should show up in your processing
status list. Once your file is complete please click the
Refresh button to add your files to the Media list.
Click the OK. Close this out.
It means that you can check the status of your file right
here, and it will tell you how far along it is in being
encoded or processed.
The idle status means it hasn't gotten there yet, but now
you see it just changed to processing. And once it is
complete, you can click the refresh button and it will show
up on your media list.
So while we are waiting for it to finish processing, I will
show you how to upload images and YouTube videos.
So click the 'add' button...
Now where it says Select Media Type to Add, choose Video/Audio and it will give you three
options.
This TVStation allows you to add images and YouTube videos.
With an image, you enter in a weblink that has a saved image
there. The TVStation does not save an image on the server, it
just saves a reference to the image. So once you enter in a
URL for an image, click the add button, and it will add your
image to the media list.
Same thing for a YouTube video, it just saves a reference to
the URL. Add in your URL here, click add, and it will show up on your media list.
So now we will check if your video has completed processing. Looks like it has.
So now you click refresh. So you see our video has now appeared on the media list.
You can double click your video and this will bring up all
the options for this specific video.
You can rename the video to whatever you want.
This is a video file that is saved on the server.
The category of the video...the description of the video which says what your video is
about.
The URL specifies where the video is linked to and this will show up in the Display information
panel on the viewer. Users can click that link and it will take them to that URL.
Native Size: When you enable this, it maintains the native
or natural size of this video. And if the video player window
is shrunk to a smaller size than this actual video size,
it will maintain the aspect ratio of the video.
We're not going to use that for this video.
The volume button is the default volume that you want your
video to use when it broadcasts.
This length just shows the length of the video. This video is
only 21 seconds.
This will become active for image files.
Now for media images, you have the regular image which is an
overlay image. If you imported a music file, whatever file, whether mp3 or flv, etc, something
that does not have any image and is just music, you can set an album cover for instance.
The Thumbnail This is the thumbnail used wherever this media
item is used. The system will generate its own, but if you
wanted to use a custom one, you would put it here.
Finally, The Advertisement This is basically the same image that's being
used in the settings, but this is a specific ad image
that is targeted for this video will display while broadcasting
this particular file.
Once you are done, save your settings.
One last thing, you can click your media to be on demand or
not. If toggled on, this media file will show up on the On
Demand media file list. And, of course, you have a select all for all your media.
And on that note, this concludes this tutorial. Thank you.
