Well, reading mystery novels is my secret vice. I really love
them, and there are some authors I really like. Not only are they well
written but they're sort of an intellectual puzzle trying
to figure out whodunit, so they're fun.
And I've always written fiction - I've had not a lot, but some fiction
published. A few years ago, I thought I might try my hand
at writing mystery short stories and have had a couple of those
published, just for fun.
I've had two short mystery stories published in Ellery
Queen's Mystery Magazine and there's another one coming out in March.
They all tend to have a cross-cultural theme, they're usually about
South Asians/Indians in the United States.
The first one was set in an Ashram community and was about
little boys wanting to learn how to play the Indian classical drums
and the drums being used as a *** weapon towards the end by one of the
children.
Another was actually set in New Orleans because I'm married to a New Orleanian and I know
the city very well. It was set in Katrina and the flood was used
as a device to
cover up the ***.
