I think it is awesome, that this area is going to be a showcase for high-speed rail for the United States.
>>We have been following it and we are really excited about it.
>>I have been on other high-speed trains. My first time being on it: this is not your father's railroad.
>>This train is going forward and if you are not getting on board, you are getting run over.
>>Siemens has brought our Velaro train to Tampa, Florida. And this is the first of five stops throughout the state,
that we'll be doing over the course of the next several months. And it's a way to engage the community,
let them know, what high-speed rail is and how it is going to impact their community.
>>We already have political support for high-speed rail in this country. We now need to build
more public support. So we are putting our Velaro train here, so people can see it and feel it and touch it.
>>We have seen a lot of pictures, a lot of movies, but actually see a full-size mock-up has been fantastic.
>>It's the most modern train there is. It is has 220 miles regular design speed.
So it is really fast. When you are on Interstate 4 and you are in your car and you see this
train, you better look up, otherwise you missed it and it's gone.
>>We have driven to Orlando before. 2 hours, that's not fun.
If they were doing it in less than an hour, it would be really nice.
>>High-speed rail is really kick-starting the whole issue of economic development
for the state, which is absolutelycritical to us. We have been a sprawling state. This really
gets us to not being a sprawling state and allows development around transportation facilities.
>>We are trying to connect the state, make it a smaller state. It is easy to get
from Orlando to Tampa now. It would be much easier, if you didn't have to sit in traffic
for an hour and a half.
>>Our Velaro train here gets 720 miles per gallon per passenger, which is much greater,
than any other public transportation forms.
>>We estimate, that about 27,000 jobs will be created directly through the high-speed system.
>>We will have a full train, every time it comes and goes back to Orlando.
>>I have been here my whole life and it's been the same thing: cars, cars, cars.
To be able to see a train move past you, is pretty cool.
