Alright, you're looking at the Acer Aspire AS5735 and I'll tell you what, this might be one of the
most perfect laptops for a student or a small business. It's an affordable laptop,
that still has all the features that you're possibly going to want to take you into the future
as far as connections go. The way the optical drive can do, the processor, the memory,
all that stuff. 64bit operating system, it's all in here and it all looks great,
and the whole package is actually very elegant, I'll show you this thing is absolutely cool,
'cause it's all black and it's very sharp looking just because it's all black,
compared to some of those grey Acer notebooks that I've seen that I don't kind of like
that color. I like this color much better, and what's really cool about it
is, you'll probably notice from the box, is that this is a 16 by 9 aspect ratio monitor.
So it's actually excellent for watching movies on, if you're going to throw a widescreen movie
on here it's going to fill the whole screen, you're not going to get any letter boxes
on the top or the sides which is excellent, and it's an interesting resolution actually.
It's 1366 by 768 is the maximum resolution on this. This is a 15.4,
it's just 16 by 9, so it's a little bit different than what you're used to,
but it does end up giving you something that's unique. Just looking at the general shape of it,
it looks a little longer, and you know, that's what you'd expect because of the aspect ratio.
Now lets talk about what this thing has. First of all, processor is a Core 2 Duo Intel,
on here. You'll also notice it has a very good latch, on the front, for opening it.
It's not so easy, but it is actually very easy, I was just facing away from it.
Ok, so we got Intel Core 2 Duo on here, it's a T6400, that's 2 gigahertz,
has a 800 megabytes front side bus, 2 megabytes of L2 Cash. You have 4 gigabytes of DDR2 memory
on here clocked at 667. Also they provide you Windows 64-bit Vista.
As you can tell right here, simply because you're going to need that operating system,
to run 64-bits, to give all 4 gigabytes of memory for use. That's going to make your multi tasking,
amazing. You're going to be able to have tons of applications running, all at the same time.
You can run your Photoshop, and your iTunes, and your instant messenger, and a bunch of tabs
and Firefox, and a bunch of other stuff, all at the same time. The thing will still run
completely smoothly all the time. Now, on top of that you have a good size hard drive,
250 gigabyte hard drive, which is definitely enough to hold all your documents and stuff
and then on top of that some pictures, movies, and music as well. You do have a DVD burner
which is actually right over here on this side, but it's not just any DVD burner,
it's a SuperMulti DVD burner. And that means that you can do DVD Rs, RWs, RAMs, ROMs,
Dual Layers, pretty much any media that you can throw in there with based on CD or DVD
will work, and be burnable, in this disk player right here. Now, also onboard is N-Draft wireless.
So if you're a little bit far away from your router, you know, you don't need to
worry about it too much. 'Cause the N-Draft.. When you have an N-Draft router,
and an N-Draft card you can actually go 300 meters with that multiple in and multiple out
technology. That's a 100 feet almost. That's very very far, so it'll work great.
Now if you prefer the older method of actually plugging in, you actually have 2,
other wired connections on this computer, right over here is your Ethernet, and you do
have 10-100-1000 on there, so that is Gigabit Ethernet. And, on the other side,
if you want to keep it real old school, or maybe for an emergency situation you do have a 56k modem
right there, a V92. I guess while I'm over here is your power, you have a Kensington Lock,
and then back over to the other side, I'll give you a little tour on the other side.
Here's your VGA output if you want to hook up to a bigger monitor. Your Gigabit Ethernet,
3 USB 2.0 ports, which is very very excellent, especially when they're all on one side,
you have your input and output for your headset and microphones, and you have a 5 in 1
card reader, which is going to do pretty much your MMCs, your SD, your XDs, your Sony memory sticks
and Sony memory stick Pros. So a lot of good stuff on the side there. Now,
take a look at the front, I'm going to show you where the trackpad... What's interesting
about this, is because it's 16 by 9, and it's gotten a little bit wider, it's still a 15.4
but because it's a little bit wider, you actually get a number pad.
Which is not something you see on a 15.4 inch notebook. That's another thing that differentiates
this thing off from all the other Notebooks on the market, is that you do get a number pad
so if you're doing a lot of number crunching, a lot of Excel spreadsheets
and you like using your number pad, it can be very important to have one on your laptop
and this is a way to get it without going with a big 17 inch laptop that's going to make you
walk in right circles. When it's in your laptop bag, you know it's just not a good idea
when it weighs too much. Now another thing that's really good about this, is the fact that it does
have a 6 cell lithium ion battery. So, lets say you're on the road and you're doing these
Excel spreadsheets for your business, or you're doing homework in school but from the library
there's nowhere to plug in, the 6 cell battery is going to give you up to 3 hours of battery life
if you're actually taxiing it heavily and if you're not doing it a lot, if you're just listenin
to music and maybe looking at the web.. Internet, you're actually going to get up to 4 hours of
battery life with that great battery, including that, you know, amazing display,
big displays like this do take a lot of energy, the brighter you have it, the faster your battery
is going to go, but with a 6 cell lithium ion battery, instead of a 3 cell,
you actually get double the battery you would normally get, versus the 3 cell.
So that's also very excellent. Now also up here, I'll point you out, you have very very nice
webcam. Acer has a special technology called Crystal Eye for their webcams
it is a regular 1.3 megapixel webcam, but it is optimized for low light conditions
and it looks absolutely fantastic. That's great for Skype, for your Instant Messenger,
all that good stuff is on there. And then finally another thing that I think is very
important to have on all of your laptops is this little puppy right here. That's a 54 millimeter
Express Card slot. That's great for adding peripherals. If you're ever stuck,
and you need to add something that this might not have in the future, there's always going to be
a peripheral card you can add in here. So the only thing that thing doesn't have is a FireWire.
If you needed a FireWire, hey, right there, they make a card, you plug it in and you're good
to go. Absolutely fantastic, and if you want to know about security on this computer,
just so you know, right there, right out the box you get McAffee Internet Security Suite,
which is absolutely fantastic. Gives you anything you could possibly want to want,
all you got to do when you get a laptop like this, is get a laptop bag,
and you're good to go. That's all you need. And it's great for college, great for school,
great for businesses. It is the Acer Aspire AS5735. If you have any question on it,
feel free to email me right here, and I'll see you guys next time.
