Hey everyone. It's Lyndon Cudlitz, the Founder and Director for CampOUT an LGBTQA youth retreat
that takes place in Oxford County, Maine. It is May already, and I cannot believe we're
already here! We have so much work to do to get ready for CampOUT this summer. As many
of you have heard, I moved to New York since last summer. So because of some transitions
with that, we've needed to make some adjustments to CampOUT for this summer. The first is that
there will be only one session: Friday, Aug 2 - Sunday, Aug 4. Secondly and unfortunately,
we need to reduce the age range to be 18-22yrs for this summer. I sincerely apologize for
that. It's our hope that this is temporary and that we're able to more next summer again.
But for this summer, it will be only one session for ages 18-22. This is also out of respect
for the Trans Youth Equality Foundation Retreat that happens the same weekend for ages 7-17.
So if you're interested in checking out Trans Youth Equality Foundation's Retreat, you can
go to their website at www.transyouthequality.org. A couple other things for you: first, please
save that date - Aug 2-4, 2013. Registration is not open yet, but we do hope to open it
real soon. Second, we'll be putting out our call for workshops really soon. So please,
of you are 18-22yrs and you can make it that weekend, we want your workshops. We'll be
putting out that call shortly, so keep an eye out for that. But have those ideas brewing
right now. Also, if you are 22yrs or under AND you have been to CampOUT before, you can
be on our Youth Hiring Team to bring on our new set of Mentors. We already have a great
group of Mentors coming back, and we're taking on a few new ones. Applications are rolling
in right now. And when those are done, I really want to have a great Youth Hiring Team to
go through those applications, interview the Mentors, and make some final selections with
us. So if you are 22yrs or under AND you have been to CampOUT before, you can be on the
Youth Hiring Team, regardless of your ability to come to CampOUT this year or not. Hit me
up at CampOUTmaine@gmail.com and let me know if you'd like to be on that Team. Also let
me know if you have any questions. Please feel free to reach out, ask questions. As
always, check out our website: www.campoutmaine.com. We'll be updating that as time goes on. Like
I said, registration is NOT open right now, but we are opening registration and the call
for workshops soon. So keep an eye out for that, and I am so excited to see y'all this
summer!
