In this clip, we're going to talk about crowd control. There are a variety of different
roles that different characters can fulfill within the group. Often times in the World
of Warcraft, you meet friends and helpers to accomplish certain goals. Whether it's
clearing out a dungeon killing monsters, or doing group quests and that sort of thing.
But not every character can do every job. They're not equipped to. For example mages
do damage in crowd control and things like that, where as a tank character, like a warrior
or something. In this case we're going to talk about crowd control. Crowd control is
basically for fights that involve multiple monsters. If you're fighting a pack of wolves
for example, not everybody, you don't want all the wolves in the pack running around
at the same time. So you would take crowd control characters and use them to get rid
of, remove some of those wolves from the combat temporarily. For example, a mage has the ability
to transform some creatures into other creatures, some docile creature. You can take that wolf
and turn it into a sheep. A sheep is probably going to stand over there and eat grass, and
is not going to attack the group. So if there is a sheep that is running around, it's not
actually part of the combat, temporarily. Other examples of crowd control characters
are hunters. Hunters have the ability to use traps. So a hunter character could trap one
of those wolves in an ice trap or something, which removes it from the combat temporarily.
Rogues can also do some types of crowd control, they can zap thing, knock them out. So a rogue
can knock something out temporarily so that it's not part of the combat that everyone
is fighting. So crowd control characters are really useful in situations where there are
multiple opponents.
