If it suits your needs, a feature can be added to your Izenda Reports that allows for setting
a lower and upper limit on data that appears in charts and other reports.
I am going to walk you through what that looks like.
2 You can see I am designing a new chart, using
data from my invoices. I’m going to go to the tab on the menu for Chart, and make this
one a Plot, for a plotted graph.
3 and 4 Then I’ll select which data I want as my
x and y axes. I want to see how much I’m spending on freight costs by order, tracked
by year and quarter. I want my fields to look like this. Then I will go to advanced properties.
5 Here, I want my Show Legend field to be UNCHECKED,
and my Connect field to be checked.
6 and 7 and 8 Then I’m going to go on to Chart 2, and
create the same chart again. Later on, when we have set limits on one of them, we’ll
be able to compare the two.
9 When we’ve done both, we will save this
report.
10, 11, 12 Then, we will view it, to see the data in
the graph. 12: You will see that the two charts have the same information. They are identical.
13 Using the code we can provide custom for you,
the Upper and Lower Limits feature is added to your existing Izenda Reports code.
14 Now that the code has been added, we’ll
go back into Design to make one tiny adjustment to the report we’ve created.
15 In one of the charts -- I’ve chosen Chart
2 -- go back into Advanced properties and now you will see the Lower and Upper Limits
fields.
16 Assign whatever limits you need.
17 And then go back to view our report, this
time the second chart illustrates just a small portion of the data from the chart above.
18 Here you can see the data below is a pared
down version of this segment of the data from Chart 1.
So easy to do, to make your reports more specific what you need to see.
