King Cobras live in South East Asia and Black Mambas, which
live in Africa never would meet in the wild.
But if they did, there will be a stand off between
two of the top of the food chain snakes.
And if there would be a confrontation between
a king cobra and a black mamba,
I think the king cobra would just overpower any
black mamba. King cobras are snake eaters,
in fact they are expert snake eaters.
Mambas will eat snakes occasionally but they prefer to feed on lizards, birds
and smaller mammals. Hence, a king cobra will
definitely overpower, kill and swallow a mamba.
I know of an instance, in which an experienced snake handler put
a black mamba in a cage with a king cobra.
He forgot that the king cobra was inside its hiding box.
And in the morning, all that was left inside the cage
was a big, fat and very happy king cobra.
He did overpower, killed and eat the black mamba.
