We are delivering a specific message to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF)
In today's SCAF Statement...
Major General El Fangary, who was the first from SCAF to salute the martyrs
And thus gained the Egyptian People's respect.
At a time when Hosni Mubarak, during the 18 days prior to his departure,
never once stood up and saluted those martyrs nor mourn their blood.
Who are the youth. Who are the buds and future of this nation.
Those who have been deprived for the last 30 years,
from their thoughts, from a career, marriage even.
Today, Major General Fangary, on National TV,
A TV that was founded using our money, that belongs to us...
... that is paid for using our tax money. With millions being spent to people working there...
... who aren't technical, nor specialized. Who aren't doing their jobs properly.
They are a shame to Egyptian TV.
Whether they were presenters, talk show hosts, or even those behind the camera.
They've been an accomplice for the past 5 months, with their masters from the SCAF.
And before them, with Hosni, remnants of the old regime and the local councils.
They were all accomplices against the people.
We are now in a country of more than 100 million.
18 million of which, are unemployed. Those with high degrees and intellects.
More than 18 million are above 35, who are not yet married.
Everything took place in this country.
From theft, to adultery, to *** and drug trafficking... on purpose.
Collapsing education... on purpose.
Collapsing health... on purpose.
The increase in the spread of cancer... on purpose.
The moral values in Egypt... is the one thing that Hosni Mubarak couldn't control.
The national solidarity that we are witnessing between diverse sects here...
Between the young, the mid-aged man and the elder. These are the moral values that Hosni cannot change.
And now my message is directed to the Field Marshall. I ask you this...
Hosni Mubarak who didn't own, gave to he who didn't deserve.
When Hosni Mubarak told you... There you go, Rule the country...
I was sure from day one... And after 30 years from Sadat's assassination...
And after Hosni left... That you'd come down with the revolutionaries...You didn't.
That raised a lot of questions. Yet no politician addressed it.
Because they are all farce.
The selected politicians that we keep seeing...
... who are always on state TV and satellite channels. You make our hearts ache.
Its all names, names, names... I say it now the net...
... and I would love to be featured in any of the channels, To get up to them and say... That's Enough!
You come down here afternoon when its breezy. And people are thrown on the streets... and die.
I ask anyone here... I hear stories like "My brother died"...
I'm yet to see a politician who says that his brother or his daughter died.
And if such happens... I will respect him. Come to Tahrir square today...
... and we'll elect you as Prime Minister. And form ministries from the heart of the people here.
There are many intellects and decent people. And I am certain that if they rule the country...
They'll take this country to higher ground.
But here's what's happenening now... Again, I address the Field Marshall and SCAF...
Mr. Field Marshall... We have to understand that SCAF and the Army are mutually exclusive.
The Army... Is Us!
We are the Army. And you are SCAF.
You... are for the Army, what the Council of Ministers was to the people.
So, you must understand that... You are not only oppressing the civilian citizens...
But you are also oppressing the Military.
And there will come a time, when you'll find yourself trapped.
You'll find people against you from the outside, and the Army against you from the inside.
This is inevitable.
Hosni Mubarak seized control for 30 years, using 5 security services...
National Security, General Intelligence, Army Police.... And other such units.
All the country's proceeds went directly into such services.
Today, Mr. Field Marshall, you are in a single unit called the Armed Forces...
... with some of the remnants of the old regime and with a failing unit called the "police"...
... which has collapsed and won't stand again on its feet.
You are from Hosni's school of thought.
Let me remind you of something... If Hosni has placed a bet and won that bet...
Today, and after the revolution errupted 5 months ago...
I want you to place a bet as well... and lets meet if you win that bet.
Something that you must understand Mr. Field Marshall...
You are performing a service, with compensation, a pretty hefty sum as well.
If our generation and this younger generation and whoever was there during 1973,
The year you were a lieutenant colonel.
The only unit that was taken hostage, so that you know...
Just to show that you have done nothing. As opposed to the real officers of the Armed Forces.
We'll die. And if we do, others will speak up.
If they die, other will also speak up.
And to remind you of Palestine, with quarter of our population...
The Jews, who aren't even Muslims, are slaughtering them since 1948, but they remain alive.
Today we are around 110 million people, So, you have a choice of two...
Either to let those youth rule and the people to live.
18 million are not married over 35 years old... What do you expect them to do?
What do you expect them to do? While you sit up there refusing to be cooperative.
Why? Why give he who doesn't own, what he doesn't deserve?
If you do want to rule the country,
firstly, please show us financial disclosures for both you and SCAF.
And then continue driving this country forwards... Because Egypt cannot be left to go further backwards.
And I won't tell you that Egypt is Pharonic. Nor that we've been for 7000 years.
But I'll say that Egypt is my mother and yours too. If you were jealous about your mother, the way I am with mine...
Then, Come down to the square. The same way you did when Hosni stepped down.
Not a single politician in the whole of Egypt... brought it up nor even acknowledged it.
No one commented that Hosni passed on the ball...
The ousted president, and sorry for saying this, I'm afraid SCAF could face a similar end.
11,000 civilians in Military prisons? Why? Doctors and Engineers? Why?
Why have to ask Why? Why is everything that happens blamed on Thugs?
Why the same policies? Why this dramatic silent treatment?
Why are you not responding? And when you do, its always late.
And when you do, its always lies. Why?
We don't want lies. We want to live.
We escaped the country... Got humiliated and had to come back.
We stayed in the country... Got humiliated and took it silently.
30 years with nothing new. What do you want? Another Military rule?
Is it a cake?
Let me tell you something... These people came out to the streets by the will of God.
These people succeeded by the will of God. And they will defeat you by the will of God.
And you have to be convinced and kneel down before God thankfully...
that the entire World came out and said that Egypt is truly a great country.
A country that could speak and be heard.
Speak and be heard and create something novel. Something that hasn't been done before.
Today, the revolutionaries are ready to form ministries from here, appoint ministers from here,
Tomorrow they could be in the presidential palace,
appoint a president, form ministries and even put you on trial.
Have mercy on us. We want to live. Have mercy on us.
During 1952's revolution, the people supported you.
The people aided you. And stood by you.
The only one who was able to get Arab World's respect was Gamal Abdul Nasser.
And the only one who was able to raise our Nation worldwide was Anwar El Sadat.
And the only one who was able to break our necks for the past 30 years...
and turned all Arab leaders into traitors, was Hosni Mubarak.
And for those 30 years, you haven't uttered a word.
Mr. Field Marshall... For 30 years, you've been eating and drinking from this rich land.
You have humiliated the children of this land.
All who preceeded you have done well. You and your generation have done wrong.
If you partook in 1973 war... You were only one soul.
a person under the name of Mohammed Hussein Tantawi
Whether you were a lieutenant, a major or a colonel. Whatever you were, it doesn't matter.
The soldier who was shot dead, was a soul just like you.
He's actually better than you. For he's been in heaven since '73...
And you've been in hell since. Thinking that your position as Field Marshall will open the gates of heaven.
Thinking that I'm in the square now afraid of you. Well, I'm not.
Neither from you, nor the Military Police,
nor remnants of the old regime, nor the entire armed forces.
And I am positive...
I am positive that the prayers from the family of the martyrs...
...will not end well for neither you nor SCAF.
If SCAF doesn't stand up and acknowledge the honor of their Army uniform.
You've been serving for almost 50 years and still don't know the honor of your uniform.
I'll tell you. It means to come down, you and SCAF,
here in the square and meet here. Out in the open not in behind closed doors.
And stand like me, without a salary since I graduated.
Don't take a salary. Sleep as I do. And eat fava beans like me.
Like that, you'll be one of us. And I only then could I believe you.
So when Israel strikes and you call for me. You'd find me responding to your beck and call.
Because i am your strength. I am the people. I carry your flag.
Its not you alone. You are one soul. And I am a soul too.
Respect the people if you please. Respect the people if you please.
