Hello YouTubers, I'm George Nirakis.
In this video we are gonna have a look at a very exciting new theme developed by EndFinity called Strife, compatible with iPod Touch 4G and 5G and the iPhone 4, 4S and 5.
This theme is the most advanced Windows Phone 7 theme on Cydia Store yet.
The same developer has also uploaded some demos of his theme called Paragon, which was a theme of Windows Phone 8 with many features and featuring the ability to change the size of the tiles...
but unfortunately it is currently discontinued because the developer thinks that Windows Phone 7 is much more beautiful than Windows Phone 8
Check out his channel by clicking the button which just appeared or the link at the description.
There you will see all the great features of his discontinued theme which I hope will be continued one day. Now, lets move on with the video.
One of the best features of Strife is the ability to have a passcode.
As you can see, there is a very good imitation of Windows Phone 7's lockscreen showing notifications, your next event on the calendar, and music controls if music is playing.
By sliding upwards, just like Windows Phone 7, you can see the passcode keyboard and type the passcode.
I haven't customized the sounds yet but I plan to. Here we are at the start screen.
As you can imagine, you can slide to the right to see a list of all the installed apps.
This particular theme also features the alphabetic order and the search, features of Mango (Windows Phone 7.5).
There is a very good imitation of these features.
Everything is just like the original one, from the People tile to the bouncing arrow when you reach the bottom.
Something revolutionary about this theme is the ability to change the order of the tiles just by dragging and dropping.
Let's see a demo of that.
Let's say I take this tile and move it right there
No more stupid move up and down buttons or edit modes.
The developer has even copied the floating/wiggling effect Windows Phone does when you move the tiles around.
Here you can unpin the tile by tapping this little button there.
Another great detail is the 3D rotating tiles and buttons when you hit them.
Another great detail is the animation it does when you launch an app which is also sweat. So, let's find calculator here...
This is the animation it does... Pretty sweet!
Another great feature is the custom HUD.
Here you can toggle the mute if your switch is broken or you don't have a switch because you are using an iPod Touch, and you can also control your music, just like on WP7
Last but not least, there are custom, immitated notification banners which give the ability to slide them over, just like WP7 or tap on them to look at what happened.
I hope I didn't forget any features.
Now let's talk about the bad things of this theme
First of all, changing the color and theme is not easily done by a menu but only by editting the Plist file via iFile or SSH
But, even if you find the plist you have to find the RGB code and put it this string
At the bottom of this plist you can also find the theme setting and switch between dark and light theme.
Another drawback is the incompatibility with very essential tweaks like Zephyr or Auxo
As you can see it cuts a little piece off the bottom.
Finally another bad thing is that after a respring it shows the keyboard and makes the status bar transparent if you don't install an app called, I think NoSpot.
That was a big problem I faced till I understood what was it.
What I would like to see next? I would like to see an easier way to change theme, some themed apps or sounds, more pre-installed tiles, bug fixes, compatibility with zephyr and a custom metro-styled switcher (why not?).
So that was it for this theme, its $1.70 on Cydia and go get it. (I think it's $1.70)
If you liked this video please give it a thumbs up, favorite it, comment, share it and anything else you can do (except from flagging it of course!). So, thanks for watching and see you later!
