So my family background - I was born in Europe, so I lived in Germany for 7 years and I also
spent some time in North Carolina, and then I spent 5 years, my high school years, were
spent in England, and so when I came back to the united states in 1995 my family, their
background is such that they weren’t too financially stable. And so I spent 2 years
after, when I was sixteen, working and helping, and then I finally went to college when I
was 18. So it always has been my desire and motivation to succeed professionally because
I’ve seen how hard my parents work and I want to be able to give them the type of life
or retirement that they deserve because they’ve worked really hard. And so my family when
I first, when I got my undergrad they were extremely excited, my brother just actually
graduated this April and so now there’s 2 of us, but now getting a master’s its
beyond belief for my family. They don’t, its just a new experience for them, and not
really understanding, “Well what does this mean? What does it provide for you?”, and
so I’ve had to explain that to them a lot that, you know, “This is what it will do
for me.” And it takes a lot of time, I mean once you get an MBA there’s a level of expertise
that companies expect you to have. And so it does provide a little bit of pressure,
but also a lot of motivation. And so for my wife and for my immediate family, it’s just
been a great experience and we see it as definitely an opportunity for us not only to further
what we hope to do in the future, which is not only helping our family but maybe helping
out the community and the different areas that we live in.
