Two Minutes on Developing and Maintaining Trust in the Data
One of the biggest challenges really isn't a technical challenge at all
it's a challenge of the
the trust fabrics that underlies the sharing of data.
One of the things that we've discovered in our state health
information exchange
business is that there is a significant barrier to trust. Your sharing data
across different venues of care.
So whether you're an accountable care organization whether you're an employer
or whether you're a clinically integrated network where you don't have control over all
the health care nodes that are in your environment you still have to find
a way to trust
so that trust fabric which is usually governed by
by various agreements participation agreements even sort of sets the foundation
so that folks can trust in the sharing
of data and without the sharing of data there is no population health analytics.
That's something that we've discovered on a very real time basis in the context
of our health information exchanges.
A private health information exchange is
essentially the underpinnings the data underpinnings for someone thinking
about population health management.
The analytic work we do has to account for a very
solid understanding of data at its source making sure that we're not
misinterpreting
or mismanaging that data along the way that we have a very trusted and proven
framework for
ultimately getting the data to the point where analytic decisions are made.
