>> JOHN: At the onset, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from NYSERDA. I was a little concerned in that they
are a government agency and I was under the impression there might be a lot of red tape, a lot of bureaucracy that has
to get plowed through before you can really realize any good benefits.
>> STACEY: NYSERDA and myself personally want to help customers be more efficient, more productive,
be more successful as a business, definitely all of that.
I would describe our relationship with NYSERDA as a very strong partnership.
Their role for us has been very critical in helping ensure that our facility continues to be competitive.
Not just competitive with external manufacturers or other companies that we compete against, but against our sister plants.
Our company certainly takes cost of manufacture into consideration when they decide where to make products.
>> STACEY: Pactiv has their own goals and continuous improvement goals in place, and NYSERDA has worked with
Pactiv to help them meet those goals through participation in FlexTech program, Industrial Process Efficiency program.
>> JOHN: We typically look for return on investment that's within the two- to three-year range.
And all of the programs that we've implemented to date certainly fall within that range, if not shorter.
>> STACEY: Some of the metrics for the savings realized—they've saved on the order of magnitude of millions of kilowatt hours in
electric savings and they've received hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost-sharing implementation incentives from NYSERDA.
