One of the unique things about the MonkeyTail is its ability to wrap around objects and
poles, positioning your tablet in impossible places. I'm going to demonstrate on this microphone
stand and this tripod. But the MonkeyTail also works on ladders, railings, trees, and
the knobs of doors and cabinets. There are four steps to creating a good wrap. First,
straighten the tail. Then, hold your tablet in position where you'd like to be looking
at it. Next, find a *** or a ledge that you can wrap part of the MonkeyTail over. Then,
using long snake-like motions, wrap the length of the tail. Position your tablet, and whether
you're playing the guitar, the drums, or singing, your music is right in front of you.
Let's try the same thing using a camera's tripod. First, you want to straighten the MonkeyTail.
Then decide where you want your tablet. So if I want my tablet around here, I'm going
to pick the leg of the tripod that's most nearly opposite of where I want my tablet
to be positioned. Then I'm going to find a hook or a ledge, and I'm going to get the
MonkeyTail tightly around that fulcrum point. Wrapping the tail in long snake-like motions,
and then coming back up to the top of my tablet, adjusting it, and making sure that there are
some nice curves, and that my MonkeyTail is still supported on fulcrum point.
Then I can check my shot list, and look up camera settings.
