ALL IN THIS TINY LITTLE AREA,
WE ARE UTILIZING EVERY BIT OF SPACE THAT WE HAVE HERE.

IT'S A DETACHED SINGLE-STORY HOME
WITH FOUR BEDROOMS, TWO BATHROOMS,
AND ALMOST 2,000 SQUARE FEET.
IT'S GOT GREAT BONES.
THEY JUST HAVE TO BE OPEN TO THE IDEAS WE HAVE
ON HOW TO MAKE THIS A HOME THEY'D LOVE.
THIS IS A VERY DATED LAYOUT.
NOW, YOU CAN ACTUALLY TELL THEY'VE UPDATED THIS HOUSE --
NEW CARPET, NEW TILE, PAINTED EVERYTHING.
UNFORTUNATELY, THEY'VE DONE A VERY BASIC JOB.
I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THIS SPACE, REALLY.
THEY HAVEN'T DEFINED THE SPACES FOR US,
BUT THERE'S A LOT JONATHAN CAN DO --
OPENING UP SOME WALLS.
THIS WALL, FOR EXAMPLE, DOESN'T REALLY DO ANYTHING.
WE COULD OPEN THIS UP SO IT COULD BE

THIS HOUSE FEELS VERY CHOPPED UP.
I'M HAVING A HARD TIME PICTURING
WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE WITH WALLS REMOVED.

FINALLY, LUKE AND COURTNEY CAN
LEAVE THEIR CRAMPED CONDO-LIVING BEHIND.
THEY NOW HAVE A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE WITH A TON OF SPACE
FOR THEIR FAMILY'S GROWING NEEDS.
THEY PAID $395,000 FOR THEIR NEW HOME.
AND WITH $95,000 FOR THE RENO BUDGET,
JONATHAN, ALONG WITH SOME HELP FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS,
WAS ABLE TO GIVE THEM
THEIR PERFECT MIX OF FUNCTION AND STYLE,
UNDER BUDGET AND WITHIN THE SIX-WEEK TIMELINE.
COURTNEY AND LUKE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HOUSE NOW.
IT WAS SUCH A TRANSFORMATION.
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU REMOVE
BASICALLY ALL THE WALLS IN THE LIVING AREA.
AND IT WASN'T WITHOUT CHALLENGE.
WE HAD TO REPLACE THE KITCHEN FLOORS,
AND LUKE AND COURTNEY DIDN'T REALLY AGREE
WITH SOME OF THE FINISHES,
BUT NOW, IN THE END, I THINK THEY'RE IN LOVE.
COURTNEY AND LUKE WANTED TO MOVE THEIR KIDS
OUT OF THE CLOSET AND INTO A PROPER LIVING SPACE.
BUT WITH THEIR DREAM HOUSE STILL OUT OF REACH,
THEY CHOSE INSTEAD TO BUY A FIXER-UPPER
AND CREATED A HOME PERFECTLY SUITED FOR THEIR FAMILY NEEDS,
ALL WITH THE HELP OF THE PROPERTY BROTHERS.
