Team v to me is just making a difference, it's no matter how big the difference you make
if you make just one person change how they think about an issue
you've done your job. Team v means the world to me I absolutely love it with a passion.
It's made my confidence go up no ends.
I'm so passionate, I just don't want it to end.
Everyone is so diverse, everyone is so different and everyone like...
You learn so much from other people and it's just a nice environment to be in really.
I think to me, Team v means...
Like...
Just friends and achieving something and feeling great about yourself.
And also leading other people.
Team v's really helped me, it's helped me to secure my job at the moment.
I actually couldn't make the interview for my now job, however, I then invited my now manager along to my event which was happening
on the same day as my interview day.
She actually came along and spoke to me and said actually you've got the job
because you can make the time, you can make the difference
and actually not get paid for it and she actually really understood what I was doing.
A lot of young people don't really realise that
any volunteering that you do do
helps you to stand out
from other candidates as well. I've never had any experience in campaigning and
now I do and I feel so much better
for going out into other projects and getting a job and things like that.
Having something to talk about and this experience as a whole is definitely
something
that employers would be happy to hear about and
would want from their employees. You make quite special friendships because
you have the same interests and it's a group of people who you know
are sort of perfect for each other.
You go through so much together
and you're all going through the same stuff whether it's
laughing, crying
all the emotions that come out with these campaigns, you're all in it together
and it's just like one massive family it's absolutely brilliant.
Team v has the potential to reach
thousands and thousands and thousands of people and I think that's really nice.
All your little actions become one big action
and actually you can see the impact it has throughout the UK.
It's an amazing opportunity
I'm so glad that I joined Team v
and I think that it has improved my confidence
so much, because
before everything I did would was like with deaf
people and I didn't have the confidence to even go to university and
sit in a lecture and just speak with hearing people.
I know that sounds weird to hearing people but
it gives you the confidence you need to kind of
go out in your life and do different things with everything.
If you're interested in joining Team v I'd just say do it! if you really want to make change in your community
and you think you can get along with the amazing team and the amazing support
you can get with the programme - do it - it's probably
one of the best things I've done in my life to be honest with you and you learn so many different things.
Do it ASAP! Do not waste time...
It's the best experience, it will be the best experience of your life.
You will feel so empowered after being involved. You will
meet so many amazing people just like yourself as well and it's an opportunity
that I say you shouldn't miss.
