Robert: On all the runways, you saw everywhere this season Audrey Hepburn lined eyes and I'm going to show you a modern take on that.
It's a little more dramatic
a little more
fresh and modern.
First thing I'm going to do, I want just a really light lid. I'm going to first take white
matte shadow
and I'm going to cover the entire lid.
Now I'm going to take a shimmery white
and do it just right on the lid.
I want to take and do a little bit of a mid tone.
But I want it to be very very exact. So I'm going to take my number thirteen
brush,
and I'm going to draw
the very very exact line.
Right where I want that crease to be.
Then I'm going to take my number
twenty eight brush
and I'm just going to lightly blend it out.
You don't want to blend too hard, because you want it to stay
kind of pretty much right where you put it.
Blend up, towards the brow bone,
while blending it out.
Now, we are going to start our line.
Whenever doing a dramatic line like that, I like to start first with a pencil
and then I'll work it out with a shadow
to get the shape I want, then I'll go over it with my liquid.
Remember you want it thinnest on the inside
slowly getting thicker as you go out.
And you can see how I'm starting to create the shape.
Okay now let me put some
catch all for the dark.
Now I'm just putting this so when I put the powder on it catches it.
I'm going to go back over it with my brush number forty one and some dark shadow.
The point is to create
a pattern
that when I go to apply my liquid
it is perfectly done, and I can apply it full proof.
Because if you make a mistake with powder
and pencil it much easier to clean up
the mistake with liquid.
And as you can see I've got my line that I'm going to have when I do my liquid,
but I'll have a pattern to follow
by doing it first this way.
And it gives you a chance to make sure you've got it exactly even and what you want it to be.
And so see at this point if I felt like something wasn't right
it would be easier to clean it off
and change it.
Now I'm going to take my brush number forty two
and
liquid liner.
And you are just going right over that pattern.
The reason you have to do the liquid
is it's going to give you a more dramatic
line
than the shadow and the pencil.
Now you have to make sure
with liquid liner
to take it all the way to the edge of the eye.
So I'll create my shape I want and then I'll go back and fill in
and connect it all the way to the end of the eye
and the underneath.
Now in the outer corner, I'm going to take my number thirteen brush again,
and a little bit of that mid tone
and just in that outer corner
I'm going to connect it.
You want a little bit of depth there
so that liner doesn't look like it's up there by itself. Can you see how much better that looks by just
taking that tiny bit?
Softens that harshness.
Then i'll go back
to blend that in.
I'll just go back over it with my
white shimmer.
Now, normally when you see a look like this you see a really strong lip.
To make it more modern,
I'm actually going to do a soft subtle pastel lip.
First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to conceal her natural lip
so that there's no
interference
with my lip that I'm about to put on.
Now I want a very
defined lip line.
Now I'm going to take lip liner because I do want a definite edge to the lip.
And I'm going to line the lip.
And I'm going to fill in. Remember anytime you fill in the lip,
as a wears off, you'll get a better wearing off.
Then we're going to take our brush
and blend out that lip liner.
And you can see why we concealed first.
It really
helps give you a stronger edge to the lip.
And then I'm going to fill in
with a pretty pastel ink.
Now as you can see that's a pastel version of a modern day Audrey Hepburn look.
