The Peace Corps for me has been a learning
experience. I've learned not only technical skills and knowing that I can learn a completely
different language but just learn a little bit more about myself. I know that I'm more
self reliant, I can be more self motivated, so I feel like I've definitely grown since being here.
I think I'm a much stronger person having spent the last five months in a new place
working with new people. I feel stronger
in my own skills and in what I can accomplish. But also on my resume that I've had an opportunity
to be a leader. I know that when I go back and apply for jobs, that is going to be viewed
very positively, so it's certainly going to be an asset.
I believe strongly in what the Peace Corps does. It is about change: changing of yourself,
changing of your mind, changing of your soul. Finding that gap between who you are and what
you really stand for and being here is going to put you to that test. 'Cause there's
nobody to say 'Don't do that, don't do this.' There's nobody pushing you.
I think once you take that step into Peace Corps, you're next goals in life almost seem like a breeze.
