Hi. This is a series of videos demonstrating some of the new features
of Rational System Architect 11.4.2
In this video you'll see how style formatting has been made much easier
So first of all let's click on a symbol
and make some changes to it - so I'll drag
the handles here to make it a little taller
and wider
and after we've done this, we'll change the background color of the symbol
to a dark blue color
and now we'll change the line style
change the color to gray and make the line a little bit thicker.
Finally we'll make some changes to the font - so let's change the font to
white
and we'll make it a little bit bigger as well so it's easier to read
Now, in previous versions of System Architect, if you wanted the same format
on a different symbol
you would have had to have gone through the whole process again.
But this version of System Architect allows us to copy all the styles from one
object to another
with one-click.
Now you might not want to apply each and every style to the new symbol so you
can selectively apply them.
Here I'm going to just select the Width style
and on this symbol i'm going to choose the Height style
and I'm also going to choose the background-color style.
So this ability to be able to selectively apply styles or copy styles
from one symbol to another
really helps us maintain a consistent look and feel
in our diagram
