Bob: Hey everybody, welcome to Know Your PC. I'm Bob.
Malou: And I'm Malou. We are here today to show you the new HP TouchSmart PC, the IQ800 series.
Bob: That's right. Now, you may or may not have seen some of our video
showing the IQ500 series but this one is new and it's bigger.
Malou: Yes, it's bigger. The fact that it is bigger, you may need two people to carry this on
and so ... can I have your help for that?
Bob: Yes. Two people. Malou: All right. Here we go.
Bob: Careful with yourselvesof your legs, not your back.
Malou: Okay, do your part would you?
Bob: Okay. I'm sorry. Two hands sometimes. Malou: There you go.
Bob: Here we go. There's the big box showing you. Right on the cover here we've got ...
it's 25 ½ inches diagonally. Same HD monitor. It's got the same TouchSmart software
that we know and love. If you've seen the IQ500 series stuff we've been doing. So, here, let's ...
Malou: Let me help you Bob.
Bob: Thank you very much. We put it here on the ground. Again, don't put it up on a table.
It might, again, strain yourself. Let's open it up. And, as you can see on the top here
we have the poster. Kind of a step by step on how to setup your PC
and on the back we have all the different connectors.
We're going to be talking about all the stuff. So please put that right up there.
Malou: Very helpful. I like this.
Bob: Now, here is all of our different stuff that goes with the computer
and we're going to take this out in fast forward motion. Are you ready for it?
Malou: Here we go. Bob: Get your hands ready. Here we go.
Malou: All right, let's go.
Bob: Let's talk about all the stuff that we just unloaded. All right.
So first, we've got our wireless keyboard.
Malou: All right. So the batteries are included with this, right?
Bob: That's right. You just pull that tab here and that will activate the batteries
which are already installed. Malou: Can you help me please?
Bob: Yes. There you go. Malou: Good job.
Bob: Perfect. All right, then we have the wireless mouse. I'll take this off. Malou: All right.
Bob: There's little wrapping paper on it. And again, there's a tab, please.
Malou: All right. Pull that to activatethe batteries.
Bob: On the back there's the off/on switch. All right.
And then we also have remote control with batteries included.
All the IQ800 series have a TV tuner card. That's your remote control.
It will help you access the TV. Malou: Okay.
Bob: All right. And then we have our Y cable. All right.
This is your IR Blaster, Infrared Blaster ... Malou: Power cord.
Bob: Power cord which goes with the power brick.
We're going to be using these in a second here to turn on the computer of course.
Malou: I like this. You're going to love this.
Bob: That's right. Now, this is a little cloth that HP gives you to clean the screen.
It's a touchscreen and so you going to want to have to clean your smudge markson it now.
Caution, if you wipe the screen clean make sure that you have the computer off
because it's a touchscreen so it will think it's being touched a million times.
And then it might freak out on you. Also, you can use any kind of glass cleaner.
It's just a non-treated, high-quality glass. Make sure you do not spray it on the screen,
you spray it on the clock and then wipe. All right?
Malou: All right. Here, all the answers.
Bob: Absolutely. Directions, instructions, limited warranty. If you have any questions
about calling support, all those numbers are in this little packet here.
Malou: All right. You must put the towel out here on the table. You want to do this
because the IQ800 series is a nice size monitor, 25 inches.
You want to protect it by putting this towel down.
Bob: That's right. Malou: Okay?
Bob: Here we go. Will you please help me? Malou: Sure.
Bob: Okay. We're going to lift. Oh, that's right, we got these tops here and then
we're going to lift it out. Thank you. All right. Malou: After you, after you.
Bob: All right. We are going to place it. Again, that's why the towel is there
because we're going to place it on its cover to remove all these different stuff.
Malou: Okay. There we go.
Bob: All right. Let's switch it around for a second because I want to show people at home
couple of features real quick. Now ... Malou: You are strong.
Bob: I am strong. I can't move it by myself but it's nice when you have somebody else.
All right, this is the stand. I‘m going to pull until it clicks.
Don't feel like you're breaking it, just go until it clicks.
Now, down here at the bottom, would you point out the power place for me? Okay.
That's where you're going to put in your power cord. All right.
This is the receiver for the wireless keyboard and mouse.
You don't need to remove it because I'm showing you where it is.
Malou: Okay. Bob: All right. Let's show it. Let's show everybody at home.
Malou: I think you're breathing heavily. Bob: I'm breathing very heavy. I'm excited.
Malou: I know. Right? Got it? Bob: Here we go.
Malou: One more turn?
Bob: And as you could see there's plastic all over that kind of protect the natural beauty of it.
We're going to pull this off. All right?
Malou: Take the plastic off. Bob: All right, here we go.
Okay, so ... all shiny and new. I'm going to show you guys the different ports and walk you around.
There's some key differences between the IQ800 series and the IQ500 series.
If you have seen any of those videos you're like, “Oh, that's new. I like that.”
First again, you're going to see the 25 ½ inch screen. It's HD. It's beautiful.
You'll see a lot more of it when we turn it on. Malou: Okay.
Bob: You also see up here we have the webcam with the microphones on either side. All right?
We have ... the speakers are down here in the grill.
You can't see back here but there are actually is an infrared sensor for your remote control.
It will illuminate a light blue when you touch the remotes.
This is also your TouchSmart home button. It's going to launch your software when you touch it.
Up here, you can't see it because it's underneath but this is your wireless LAN.
Antennaare up here, Bluetooth, antenna receiver is right here.
Let's show them up here what that is.
Malou: This is new on the IQ800 series right here. It is a Pocket Media Drive Bay.
It's for an external hard drive. Very cool feature.
I will tell you all about that in just a couple of minutes here.
Bob: That's right. All right. Let's rotate it around.
Malou: Thanks for holding that by the way.
Bob: You're welcome. And I'm going to go to the front here.
All right, so let's walk you through this. We got volume up and down, mute,
memory card slots so you can stick in your memory card from your photos or whatever.
FireWire. Also over here, everyone of the IQ500 or 800 comes with CD/DVD.
But the IQ800 series, you can get the option of Blu-Ray Disc.
Malou: You like that.
Bob: I love that. Maybe if I'm going to have an HD monitor I might as well have an HD player.
You can get that. It's obviously not standard but you can order it for yourself. All right.
Malou: Okay. Bob: Let's rotate around.
Malou: There you go.
Bob: Now, couple things on the back I want to show you. First of all, this is a stand.
I showed you guyshow to pull it up. New for the IQ800 series. Please Malou.
Malou: Here you go.
Bob: Well, I'm out everybody. It does not come standard.
You do have to order it from HP but you take this off the back, you put this in
and it connects to any V-E-S-A or VESA, wall mounts. You can put it on the walls, pillars,
all that great stuff. Your computer is now even more like your TV. It's awesome.
Malou: Okay.
Bob: All right? Again, this is where you plug in the power. This is your wire wrangler.
You can put your power wire here, internet. All those different wires.
Because here, show them that. Malou: Take this cover off. Here we go.
Bob: All right. That is the connector panel and back here we have another wire wrangler
for all the different wires that could go to your connectors. I'm going to rotate. Thank you.
Malou: Got it. Bob: Yup.
Malou: All right. Bob: So, we'll walk you through all the different connectors back here.
Three USB ports, LAN, internet right there, SPDIF, if you have an A/V receiver,
audio/video receiver. You've got surround sound speakers going on, you plug this into here
and then to your audio video and so now you can listen and watch your Blu-Ray
and listen on the surround sound. It's so awesome all right.
And then we also have our Audio Out so if you have desktop speakers or whatnot,
those get plugged into there. Now we have the S-Video.
This is if you're connecting a Set-Top box. S-Video here.
Or if you just have a regular coaxial TV cable that goes here. But if you want to do the S-Video
you also have your Audio In. Which if you hand me those Y cables I showed you briefly before.
Malou: There you go.
Bob: This comes from your Set-Top box, the audio and it goes into the back here.
We also have the IR Blaster. Malou: Check.
Bob: Again, if you are using a Set-Top box, this goes on to the receiver of the Set-Top box.
This goes plugged in and now your remote control will be talking to your Set-Top box
to change channels and whatnot. All right? So that's all that stuff here. What about this?
Malou: This right here is for the Ambient Light which the IQ500 also has.
But here on the 800 it has all these different colors which I'll show you. Also,
in just a couple of minutes, the IQ500 has the white light, this has multi colors.
Bob: Ooh, it's beautiful. And we also have a couple more USB ports, a line in and headphones.
Malou: All right.
Bob: All right. I think that's it Malou. I think we've shown them everything we need to turn it on.
Malou: Time for some power. Okay.
Bob: It's time for the lights, camera, action.
