Short description
EXALOT is an intuitive system to create and manage databases
Experts and Non-Experts can create databases, clone and modify
The results can be used online or offline in playful and flexible ways
About me
I am Ernesto Sun, freelancer, and have invented EXALOT to give more people access to IT
Definition of 'EXALOT'
The name 'EXALOT' illustrates the far-reaching significance of this system
EXA is Greek and stands for the number 6
1000 to the power of 6 = 10 to the power of 18 = 1000000000000000000
This is the prefix in the metric system following after Mega, Giga, Terra and Peta
LOT is English and simply means amount
EXALOT as a whole thus means 'huge amount'
Technology - Effective thanks to JSONP
There are many ways to transfer data between server and client
In the classical case the whole HTML-code is loaded into the browser at each user-interaction
By using JSONP only the required pieces of data have to be loaded
That saves server-load, network-load and thus: cost and energy
Sustainability starts with the right choice of used technology
Technology - Flexible thanks to JSONP
EXALOT gives the user a lot of liberty thanks to JSONP
The result (e.g. a database-search-form) can be embedded into any kind of website
The cross-domain-restriction is bypassed
That means that websites usually can only load data from the origin server
With EXALOT it's possible to visualize the data of various servers at once
That avoids redundancy and increases the up-to-dateness
EXALOT allows sharing over all borders
Technology - Special logic in EXALOT
EXALOT provides the user a super-simple logic
The so-called TFO-semantic (types, functions, options) allows the unrestricted defintion of data and structures
Even complex databases can be defined intuitively by non-experts
Outlook
At the moment EXALOT is in alpha-stage and is already used by the Global Ecovillage Network
This small and efficient Open-Source-software allows the sharing of information with thousands of users
All that with minimal server-cost
EXALOT makes it simple!
