What's up Everyone! Welcome back to TastySauces.com
I'm your host Billy D and today we are heading up to Indiana
and we are trying a little Hoosier Daddy Barbecue Sauce.
So if you can't tell from the Hoosier, it's Indiana country
and they were kind enough to send us this three different flavors to try out. We got
their
Sweet and Sassy, we got their Hickory Smoke and Lime,
and we got the dreaded Ghost Pepper Barbecue Sauce.
Let's go ahead and check these bad boys out. Now, looking at this Sweet and Sassy, it has a
brown sugar base,
it's got corn syrup, mustard, some tomato paste,
even has a little peach nectar, natural smoke flavoring,
and a few other things so let's
go put it on this pulled pork sandwiches. It has got a thin consistency.
It has got a nice little caramel color too it.
That's really sweet and really good.
You get a lot of sweetness and a little bit of
smoke flavor in there. But that was actually really good.
I'm going to give this guy 4.5 out of 5 and
as far as the spicy/heat index scale, it's relatively mild, I would give it a 1 on the spicy
scale. Definitely like the Sweet and Sassy. Now looking at this Hickory Smoke
Flavor,
as far as the ingredients, it looks like it's just about the same, there are a few other
little change-ups. But the big difference is that this one should have a
strong Hickory Smoke Flavor.
You definitely get the smell right off the bat. It has got a real good consistency just like the other one.
This is nice. A nice change-up from that sweet one
we just had. It had a real rich smoke flavor but not a whole lot of sweetness.
It's pretty good as far as the 5 star scale, I would give this guy a 4 out of 5.
As far as spiciness/ heat index scale, it is really not spicy at all so
I would give it a 1 on that one. Now, moving on over to the next sauce.
We got the Ghost Pepper Barbecue Sauce.
Looks like the ingredients are about the same but they got that dreaded ghost pepper in there
so hopefully, I don't
cry too much
It is about the same color and consistency as the other one.
As far as the flavor, I am getting a lot of zing now.
It's kind of creeping on me
It's not bad.
Typically, when you think of Ghost Pepper, it's a little scary, you're not sure what to think but
this one is not too bad, its got a nice zing but it's not overpowering.
So as far as the 5 star scale, I will give this bad boy
a 4 out of 5.
As far as the spicy/heat index scale, I would probably give this guy a 4 out of 10.
So thank you guys for watching
and checking out the Hoosier Daddy BBQ Sauce.
Thanks again. Bye!
