Not anymore
I decided to take action
To help kids and adolescents become interested in doing something worthwhile.
Their hands transform their world
our world
they listen, they observe, they make themselves heard!
I realized that indigenous languages were dying
and I had to do something about it
I recognized that it was necessary to offer sustainable alternatives for rural development
and I decided I would make it happen.
I started gardening in Mexico City because,
when I returned to live here 5 years ago, I realized that very few people were doing it.
They’ve demonstrated that creativity and innovation are the best way
to move forward and transform their futures.
We try to do something that is dynamic, fun...
...and touches the heart.
I believe that youth do this first from a sense of personal commitment and then social conscience.
At the end of the day I have the opportunity to instill theater with values
to mix these together so that the kids can obtain tools that they don’t get in school, in their basic education.
I think that my appreciation of the Prize has grown exponentially after having won it
seeing the connections and contacts, the help that it’s given me!
The UVM Prize has created not only allies
and between us we share emotional experiences and a type of synergy that has a real effect on our work.
I’m grateful to the UVM Prize for this opportunity
to bring a wider vision to my project, and to make this dream even bigger.
There are smiles in each activity...
and in each project the feeling that we aren’t alone!
Since 2006, the UVM Prize has celebrated young social entrepreneurs
people that work for the community, and has been awarded to 75 projects.
Happy 5th. anniversary UVM Prize!
