Hi, this is Dave for Expert Village. Today we are going to make white bean soup with
hamhocks and cornbread. For beans if you are going to use dry one I like to use the great
northern or the small white beans. The first thing I like to do is go ahead and open these
up and pour them out we are going to be looking for little stones and things like that and
there might be little impurities you cook it in there and you take a bit you might break
a tooth or something. Just go ahead and open up the bag (you might drop a few) just go
ahead and pour them out on the plate and sometimes you won't have any in here but I have run
across and it's always good idea to go through them. Those look okay, so basically you just
want to pick through and look to see if you see any thing foreign like little rocks or
anything like that. It looks like we are in pretty good shape here.
