Hello and welcome to Tokheim News. Tokheim remains resilient and is growing despite the
current financial crisis. This was the message from company president Patrick Berthon as
he celebrated Tokheim's recent progress and outlined plans for the company's future. Mr
Berthon acknowledged that current economic conditions are difficult but said that thanks
to a sound strategy, the dedication of its employees and continued success in improving
quality and customer care, Tokheim has almost doubled its turnover and staff numbers in
the last eight years.
Congratulations are in order for Tokheim's Dundee Manufacturing Centre as they celebrate
attaining the internationally recognised environmental management standard, ISO 14001. The focus
of the standard is to reduce the environmental impact of the business whilst ensuring that
they maintain and build on their current levels of success. General manager John Harley praised
his colleagues, saying that the standard showed the huge commitment of everyone involved.
Tokheim UK has announced that it passed recent HSSE audits with Total and Concoco Phillips.
Mark Husband, HSSE manager of Tokheim UK, said it brought to a close a very good year
for HSSE auditing in the UK sales and services division.
The good news for Tokheim UK continues as the National Measurements Office awards them
approval for the self-verification of fuel dispensers. Tokheim's engineers will now be
able to stamp fuel dispensers for public use, benefitting customers with less equipment
downtime and faster repairs.
To the Netherlands now, where Tokheim Benelux continue to make great strides in outdoor
payment terminal installations. They recently reached a milestone number of 3000 terminals
when they installed Crypto VGA terminals on a site in De Rijp.
Tokheim France is helping to provide a new suite of solutions to customers through their
new Environmental Action Plan. The plan, developed in line with regulations from the French authorities,
details procedures for managing waste, noise and visual pollution, as well as guidelines
on creating a clean construction site with low impact on the environment.
For over 20 years, AS 24 has specialised in the distribution of fuel in the commercial
transport sector, and Tokheim has been there since the beginning. The two companies have
been working closely to develop AS 24's AdBlue distribution offering. AdBlue, a complement
for diesel, is distributed by AS 24 across a large European network and Tokheim has equipped
all stations with the necessary dispensing solutions. Louis Brand, technical director
of AS 24 said that Tokheim had developed a system truly tailored to their partners needs
and had added genuine benefit to the business.
Tokheim has launched a Europe-wide range of products and services specifically tailored
for the commercial fleet market. The DiaLOG fuel management system has been helping sites
throughout Europe reduce the time it takes to refuel their fleets by up to half. Remco
Rengers, Business Development Manager, says that he is very pleased with the performance
and stability of the platform.
Last year Tokheim and fuel management specialists Fairbanks announced that they were entering
into a partnership to combine their services in new areas of the world. Fairbanks' market
leading fuel management system has saved customers in the UK, Ireland and Europe many millions
of pounds and Euros by pinpointing and reducing losses. The Fairbank's system plays a large
part in security and safety and Steve Jones, joint managing director, said that the company
had been working with customers to develop a system that can detect theft and alert owners
faster than ever before.
A couple of items in brief now, starting with news that EKO Bulgaria has chosen Tokheim
as its partner to handle its online fuel card solution. At least fourteen of EKO's largest
service stations will be using the system by the end of November.
Tokheim Iberia is delighted to announce that it has been specially recognised for achievements
in the field of health and safety. The award acknowledges Tokheim's high levels of training
and outstanding results in the market.
And finally, to the weather. UK customers will be warmed by the news that Tokheim's
new Standard Temperature Accounting application will be saving them money this winter. Last
year UK stations lost out on millions of litres of fuel due to freezing conditions but customers
who now have STA capabilities won't feel the bite as the weather turns colder.
And that's all we have time for. Thanks for watching Tokheim News.
