Hi and welcome to a new video! I am zehjotkah and today I have an app for the iPad and the other iOS devices for you!
The app is called iDisplay and it expands the screen of your Windows or MacOSX computer.
You have to install a small program on your PC. Next year it will be available for Linux, too. It will run in the backgound.
When you start the app on the iDevice you'll be notified on your PC and you'll have to accept the connection.
Then your screen will be expanded on the iDevice screen.
You can use the free desktop space on the iDevice for example your messenger windows.
Of course you can use the screen on the iDevice like a normal screen with the mouse and the keyboard.
A really cool feature is the possibility to use your finger as the mouse.
A long press with your finger emulates the right click of your mouse.
You can tap with two fingers to bring up the iDevice on-screen keyboard.
Again a tap with two fingers hides the keyboard.
There is also the pinch-to-zoom feature and the drag-with-two-fingers feature.
Of course you can also use the standard windows-functions like double click on the window-bar to expand the window.
It isn't as fast as on the normal screen, but for static windows like the messenger or another browser it is really good. Of course you won't play fast games on it.
After showing the keyboard you can also show informations about iDisplay, buy more apps from Shape Services and also manage your iDisplay connections.
iDisplay is a really useful application for a really good price. Shape Services also made other cool apps like the IM+ messenger and the Mobiola Webcam app.
Thanks for watching! And don't forget to check out the website of Shape Services!
iDisplay also works on the iPhone 4. Then it's on a smaller screen, but the pixel density of the iPhone 4 is higher, so everything is just displayed smaller.
Thanks again for watching! Please subscribe to not miss any of my new videos!
