I’m Bill Telepan, executive chef for Wellness in the Schools. We’re working hard to make
school lunches healthier. But eating well starts with breakfast, so here are some quick
ideas:
Breakfast burritos are a portable meal… scramble some eggs, and chop up some veggies
– leftover veggies work great for this – then wrap it all up in a whole wheat tortilla.
For a sweet twist, fill a simlar whole wheat tortilla with low-fat peanut butter and sliced
bananas.
Oatmeal or plain whole grain cereal might sound boring. But, topping it with seasonal
fruit like strawberries and blueberries will keep it fresh and tasty.
All three of these breakfast options taste great, and provide that energy you’ll need
to start your day.
