The Data Management application allows you to customize data usage settings, set up alerts, and more.
Watch this video to learn how to use this application on your Samsung Galaxy S III from AT&T.
To start, pull down the notifications panel.
Then touch the Settings icon.
Next touch Data usage.
To set a cap to how much mobile data you use per billing cycle, touch Set mobile data limit.
Read the prompt, and touch OK.
Then touch and hold the red handle bar.
Drag the bar up or down to set the maximum amount of data your device will use before automatically turning data off.
The amount of data appears numerically on the left side of the bar.
Once you are satisfied, let go.
You also have the option to set a warning notifying you when you have used a certain amount of data.
Simply touch and hold the orange bar to adjust.
With this application, you also have the ability to set your billing cycle.
Simply touch the drop-down box next to Data usage cycle and select Change cycle.
Then scroll to the day that your billing cycle will begin.
Touch Set when complete.
Below the data usage chart, you will see a message regarding the approximate amount of data used within a specific time frame.
To adjust this time frame touch and hold below the white vertical line on the left,
and drag your finger to the approximate time of the month you wish to start.
As you can see below, the start date has changed.
To adjust the end date, touch and hold the white line on the right side and drag to your specified date.
Touch the Menu button.
Here you have the option to view your Wi-Fi usage, restrict your background data, and allow data roaming.
If you choose to activate data while roaming or restrict data, be sure to read the prompts carefully before activating.
