Boy, have I got a deal for you guys, check this out--
you're looking at the GT5674 Gateway, this is a refurbished desktop,
price on this, since it changes I can't really talk about it
but i'll tell you what- it's a steal of a deal,
it's very affordable, if you have a kid going to college,
if you're broke, you're poor, you're homeless... that's right, if you're homeless,
you're a meandering vagabond and you know, you can wipe windows for this
because it's so affordable, great computer, lots of power,
let's you do just about everything you want, it's got a quad core processor,
tons of memory, tons of hard drive space, it's got a little bit of everything
and tons of exterior features as well, and it looks very sharp, I might add.
This looks really cool, and... brushed aluminum look right there,
that's pretty cool... and, what else?
What else can I tell you about this? It's an awesome computer
and again, the price is great. Let's start off with the operating system,
it is a Vista machine, so it is a nice, running Vista machine,
it's got more than enough memory to run Vista
and it's definitely got a processor powerful enough to run Vista,
if you're afraid that Vista...sucks? It doesn't, you're wrong.
You haven't seen the new commercials, but they're good.
And it's true, Vista's gotten a lot better in the past year and a half.
Granted, when it first came out it took me a while to go from XP,
and that said I'm a first adopter and I usually jump on the bandwagon right away.
It took me a while, but guess what? Vista's here, it's better, and it works fantastic.
If you have a kid going to college he's going to be able
to do everything he wants on here, ok? He can word process, he can run Excel,
he can do his homework, surf the web, he can burn DVDs, it's amazing.
He's going to have a lot of ability to do a lot of stuff.
Alright, so, this thing is loaded with an AMD Phenom X4 9500,
so that's a very fast, powerful Quad Core AMD processor
that's going to let you multitask. If you like having Photoshop, and Firefox,
and Instant Messenger and your Limewire downloading
and your torrent software downloading, and about 18 other programs running
all at the same time, you're not going to have any problem,
you will be able to process information in all of those programs simultaneously,
or, you know, just leave a whole bunch of apps running, I personally have like three firefoxes
running and usually a couple Google Chromes, and i'll have like 10-15 tabs in each one.
And then i'll be running Photoshop, and i'll be running some other authoring software
that I run at the same time, and hey, it's not a problem,
you can do it with a computer like this Quad Core. Let's take a look at the outside real quick,
i'm going to come over here... take a look at up here,
this is your little media bay, and it's very interesting because they put
everything you need right up here, starting off with your power button
which is conveniently located right there, you get two USB 2.0 ports,
and then this is all your card readers. That's 15 card readers right there in one.
SD, SDHC, Multimedia Sticks, CompactFlash, MS Pros...pretty much all the disks
are going to fit in there, all your media cards will work, no problem.
Here's your DVD burner, it is Labelflash, which means it will
burn an image using the same laser it uses to burn the CD but on the disc.
And that's a lot like LightScribe technology, except it's a little better,
because you don't need to buy a specific LightScribe disc,
you can use any blank CD or DVD, which is really cool.
They left this open here for expansions so if you want to be cloning from DVD to DVD
or CD to CD, you could add a second drive and it would fit right there,
and then it'd still have the 'factory' look, if you move down
there's this little panel, and there's a couple of things in there.
First, you'll see your input and output for audio, your headset and your microphone,
and this is pretty cool, this is the Portable Media Drive Bay,
and this is something that Gateway does, it's their little proprietary device
and it's pretty much a hard drive that goes in the enclosure
and you can pull it in and out of there, pretty much that's all it is.
It's kind of like a docking station for your enclosure.
This is a big, shiny Gateway logo, and that's about it for the front.
Let me take you to the back... there's the back.
And pretty much you'll see your power and your power supply,
a big 120-millimeter exhaust fan's going to keep this thing running cool,
these are your two PS/2s for your mouse and your keyboard,
this is your VGA output, you do have onboard graphics on this,
it's the NVidia 6150 SE onboard graphics. So that actually works pretty good,
and...let's see what else we've got here. Two, four USB 2.0 ports,
this is your ethernet, and this is your 7.1 channel HD surround sound.
Audio, and if you go down here to the bottom the best part...
oh! That's right, you get a modem! Modems kick butt. Awesome, awesome.
And you know what? One more thing, before I leave you guys,
I want to show you this, this is really cool.
I love those, they stay, they don't pull out.
So that's very cool, I like those a lot. Let me give you a quick tour
of the inside, just so you can see a very important part
of this computer. And it's the part that lets you upgrade and expand,
and that would be this slot right here, you can see it, it says it right there,
PCI Express. And this is a PCI Express card bus, so pretty much you can put a video card in here,
and that turns this humble, little computer for word processing and stuff
into an awesome gaming machine, because you do have all the power
that you need elsewhere. You have a very fast processor,
you have a ton of memory, a ton of hard drive space,
you know, but you have no video card- hey, you can add one right there
in the future. No problem. Hey, you know your kid makes it through
his first year at college, second year send him a video card,
because you trust him, he's not going to go crazy. You even get a 6-pin PCI Express connector,
ok? On the power supply, so you're not going to have to get any adapters,
it's ready to go and upgrade for a video card, as you can see, let's see if I can tilt this
so you can see it, check that out-- all four slots for your memory are all populated with lots
lots of memory. You do get three gigabytes of dual-channel memory. So those are
two one-gig sticks and two 512-megabyte sticks of memory, giving you a total of three,
which, combined with a Quad Core and a 500-gigabyte SATA hard drive,
gives you a lot, a lot of power and a lot of great things
that you can do with this computer. So, very, very cool,
and also, you'll notice the hard drive's mount over here in a caddy,
you can also tell it's very easy to upgrade, so if you want to add another hard drive,
hey, just put it right in there, you'll have no, no problem at all,
and, another thing that was pretty cool? They used a Koolmaster fan. Brand name. Nice!
Score another one for Gateway. So, very cool computer,
very affordable, three gigs of memory, which is going to be great for running Vista,
a Quad Core that's going to help you multitask and do just about anything you want,
you've got a 500-gig hard drive, you got a lot of everything
and it's going to be a great computer for a student,
for businesses, for anyone who needs a very powerful, yet very affordable computer.
And, guess what? If you don't have a computer it comes with speakers, keyboard and mouse
in the box, and the mouse is kind of nice, keyboard's got nice...
I don't know what you'd call that, clickability? It's very nice, you could probably type
very fast on it, and some little speakers there
that will help you get started right out of the box,
you don't need to buy any extra stuff. So, again, the GT5674 Gateway,
