Thank you Wim. Dear colleagues many of you have attended
our yesterday's meeting
in Art Gallery of Dubrovnik and what I would like to stress
is that these "C" sign in the formula that
the professor Šola showed yesterday
which has got the number two so it's very emphasized
is one of our key objectives in European Museum Forum
we are working under the auspices of Council of Europe
and since this year in close
partnership and collaboration with ICOM
Actually sharing the administration
duties and of course networking networking
having good partnership relation
with the Best in Heritage but also besides EMYA
the Awards camp for Museums we are also participating in various projects
The one we are in now
is called eCultValue So this is the badge
you may have seen around. Please if you don't have it pick one
And we would like to encourage you
to look at the website
see what different activities we can offer
and join in. I would like to thank everybody
who have already participated
and of course my colleague Margaretha Mazura who is another partnering
the project will say more about it
Thank you very much Goranka
Okay eCultValue It stands for
adding value to Culture through "e"
through the "e" that is enhanced, but it also overstanding in reminds for digital
So what will we do? What we try do is to
bring together new technologies
with cultural content which is most define your museums
So we are very happy that we can be here in the Best in Heritage
Where we have definitively the best of museums around
to communicate what we want to have this dialogue
and thanks to this cooperation through Goranka and professor Šola
I'm very happy to be here and to explain this to you
We called it from Neanderthal to Space Art
because every type of museum can use
ICT Information & Communication Technologies
to enhance the access to the
collections and to
give to user new impressions
new ideas how to experience these collections
to make the growth of the interest in the collection
through out the whole population in particular to young people
So the idea is dialogue between
Content and Technology
Museums and ICT Providers Peers and Young People
Why? We need to tap on the creative industries in Europe
They are very powerful and they need promotion
And for ICT to content owners because ICT is not a threat
it's also not a panacea for everything Not every technology fits
every museum collection So one has to find out
which target audience, which collection, which content to use it
and then related ICT to showcases, to scenarios
how to use it and attract young people to it
because youth cultural heritage, we saw it yesterday is very important
and it's also very important fact for everybody
Now I invite you to
look at our platform online it's eCultObservatory
it's not .com it's .eu actually I don't know why this is written there sorry
It's the online space we have different tools
and in particular if you have in your museum
a best practice case, well you say this is a case
where used technology were for the benefits of the museums, for the benefits
of the users: Tell us!
We want to show it on our platform we want to show that they are already best practice cases
and how technology he can be successfully use
in this environment. We had yesterday
our first Dialogue Day and this was very successful
We're very grateful for this opportunity and
today in our internal meeting we said we would very much like
to repeat this experience and do it next year again
so we invite you to become more active and then
show us what you did, we'll show you what we did
and hope that we will have a platform that helps
both the technologies to be adopted by museums and the museums
to enhance the collections Thank you very much
