My name is Anthony Maddaloni, I'm a professional photographer from Austin, Texas. I'm going
to talk about how to set up your four by five camera so that you can use it. The first important
part of this camera that you need know is where the tripod mount is. It is in the bottom
of this camera. One important fact to know about large format cameras is that ninety
percent of the time you are going to use this camera on a tripod. So if you don't own a
tripod, you probably are going to want to get one. The next thing is that these cameras
have a tripod mount down here. These cameras they're made of, they're made of wood and
metal so you really want to treat it very gently. I've seen people in the past kind
of put their camera on their tripod and sort of strip it. You don't want to do that because
you're never going to be able to really fix it right so treat it with some care. This
is pretty much your standard tripod mount hole. It'll pretty much go into any tripod
that you can get. One important fact about setting this camera up on the tripod is you
want to take your time, you want to have maybe a heavier tripod. You don't want to get a
light, a little, tiny, light one because of how heavy this camera is. It's a pretty heavy
camera so you want to have something heavy duty and that will be sturdy. If a breeze
comes by or wind or, you know, I'm a real klutz, like I'll knock it down. So you want
something heavy that's going to withstand a little brush with your foot perhaps. So,
tripod mount, right there.
