Hi I'm Laura Martini downward facing dog is one of the most commonly taught yoga
postures in the yoga world
today I'm going to teach you how to go deeper in this posture start by bringing your awareness
into your hands, spread all 10 fingers and especially ground the inner triad
of your hand into your mat
that's the base of the thumb, the thumb knuckle and the index finger knuckle
press them into the floor
and then you'll find soon as you ground into your hands more weight will
move back
now take the shoulders, roll them open
and then let all four sides of your neck be long, relax your jaw and wiggle
your bottom teeth, ensure that you're
not clenching your jaw by relaxing this part of your body
you'll actually be able to find more strength in the other parts of your
body to hold you here for longer periods of time
that's how you go deeper in downward facing dog
