Hi, I'm Justin Hunter the founder and CEO of Hexawise. We make a test case
management tool.
I'm at STPCon and I've just finished up a talk on documenting tester
instructions and different approaches
to that.
So how do you document instructions?
I think there are a lot of different approaches and that's very much a
context driven issue.
So my approach in the presentation was
rather than saying this is the one true best practice, documenting testing
instrcutions well,
I reviewed a very different approaches including one
that is one of my favorites
developed recently by Paul Holland, a test manager, over at Alcatel
who basically stopped
writing test reports back up to management in the traditional way
and waited for people to complain,
so I understand, nobody complained
and he's got a new system of post-it notes on a whiteboard
and is working quite well. Very, very streamlined
so now he is able to maximize the time his team spends testing
and minimize the amount of time his team stands documenting how they're going to test.
What are you looking forward to this week?
Well, given that it's pushing on towards five o'clock I think I'm looking
forward to getting a beer pretty soon.
After getting beers and talking to other testers and presenters
I look forward to just learning more about testing and
networking and there is a good crowd here. i met
Jason Huggins for the first time
The initial creator of
Selenium and the
founder about App Sauce Labs. A lot of interesting testing personalities here
So mostly it's kind of conversations in the hallways that I enjoy.
Thanks a lot Justin, I appreciate it.
