Welcome to the 4ipnet HSG200-P Wi-Fi Hotspot Kit installation guide,
please follow the installation instructions in this video
to quickly setup your hotspot environment.
First, unpack the HSG200-P Hotspot Kit.
The box on the left hand side is the HSG200 Wireless Hotspot Gateway,
and the box on the right hand side is the NetTicketGen - Network Ticket Generator Set.
Please take out and open the HSG200 box, the product contents in this box include:
The console cable, ground cable and wall mounting pack are only used
for recovery or special installation requirements.
They are not required in a normal installation procedure.
Attach the antennas to the SMA connectors of HSG200.
Next, please take out and open the Network Ticket Generator Set,
the product contents in this box include:
Please connect PRT100's power adapter and power cord together.
You will also need to prepare an additional ethernet cable
and have an ADSL or cable modem ready for connecting to the internet.
Step 1: Take the ethernet cable that you have prepared,
and attach one end to an ISP device such as ADSL modem or cable modem.
Attach the other end to the WAN port of HSG200.
Step 2: Attach the power adapter to the power socket of HSG200
and plug it into a power source.
Step 3: Take the serial cable from the Network Ticket Generator Set,
Connect one end to the COM1 port of SDS100
and the other end to the serial port of PRT100.
Step 4: Use the ethernet cable from the HSG200 package,
connect one end of the cable to LAN1 port of HSG200
and the other end to the LAN port of SDS100.
Step 5: Open the top cover of PRT100 and place the included paper roll into the compartment.
Pull the paper's leading edge past the front panel of the printer, and close the top cover.
Step 6: Attach the power adapter to the power socket of SDS100
and plug it into a power source.
Step 7: Attach the power adapter to the power socket of PRT100
and plug it into a power source.
Turn on the power switch on PRT100.
The Wi-Fi Hotspot Kit is installed with default settings
and ready to provide internet services.
HSG200 is preconfigured with a default billing plan.
Navigate by pressing the Increment or Decrement buttons on SDS100
to display the plan number "1" and press the Enter button,
an instant account will be generated and printed out through PRT100.
Now your customer can login and surf the internet
with the username and password printed on the ticket.
This video demonstrates how to configure necessary system and network parameters.
First please prepare a laptop or desktop computer for the configuration,
and turn the power on.
Step 1: Remove the ethernet cable from SDS100, and connect it to your computer.
Your computer should be connected to the LAN1 port of HSG200 now.
Step 2: Open a web browser, and enter the default gateway address of LAN1 port,
which is http://192.168.1.254.
The administrator login page will then appear.
Enter "admin" in the Username and Password fields
to log into the Web-based Management Interface.
Step 3: Click the Setup Wizard to start quick configuration.
The Setup Wizard provides four steps to quickly configure the HSG200
system with minimal configurations for your hotspot network.
All of the parameters are assigned with default values,
change the settings accordingly to meet your requirements if necessary.
The first step is the basic configuration for the entire system as shown in the page.
For security reasons, it is recommended that you change the administrator password.
Next, select a time zone applicable to your hotspot venue
and enter the location of a valid NTP server for automatic time synchronization,
or you may choose to set the system time manually.
A Portal page can be enabled.
Enter the URL of the web page where users will be redirected toafter a successful login.
Click Next to proceed to step 2 of the Setup Wizard.
In Step 2 we will configure WAN port connection
and basic wireless settings of your network.
You will need to choose the type of outbound connection for your network.
Please consult your internet service provider for the connection type provided to you.
Here we use the commonly used connection type, PPPoE, as an example.
Fill in the account credentials provided by your ISP.
Next, click the Wireless option and proceed to configure the basic wireless settings.
Select your preferred wireless band and channel
and set an ESSID for your public wireless network.
An ESSID is a unique name given to your public wireless network.
Step 3: Configure the Authentication option for Public Zone.
Under default settings,
users in Public Zone will be authenticated before using the internet.
Here you may choose the default authentication option for Public Zone or disable it.
HSG200 supports 4 types of authentication options which include two built-in options,
Local and On-demand, and 2 external RADIUS servers.
Choose the default authentication option for your network and set a postfix,
and apply a policy if required.
In this video we will use the default settings in this step,
so click Next to proceed to Step 4.
Once you have completed all the configurations from step 1 to step 3,
click the Finish button to save and apply the changes.
Click the OK button of the pop up window
and the system will restart to activate the new settings.
When the administrator login page reappears on your browser,
the Setup Wizard has been completed.
Launch the management interface of HSG200,
login with the administrator username and password.
Click the Main Menu on the lower right corner of the system's home page.
Enter the User category.
Click on the configure button of Ondemand authentication.
Scroll down to the Billing Plan item and click the configure button
to enter the configuration page for the billing plan feature.
Plan number 1 is the preconfigured default billing plan,
you may edit this billing plan or create other billing plans of your choice.
Click the Edit button to configure a billing plan profile.
We will demonstrate how to create and edit a billing plan with the account type
that is most commonly used in hotspot venues such as coffee shops.
Firstly, the number 2 displayed on the first field
means the number of the billing plan you are currently editing.
Next select Duration for the Account Type field.
This account type specifies a valid time period
when a user can access the internet regardless of logging in or out.
In the third field, select Elapsed Time which means
the accounting will start immediately after account creation
until the valid time period has elapsed.
Set a valid time period for the account created from this billing plan,
for example 3 hours.
Set the unit price for the account from this billing plan.
If you wish to provide free internet service simply enter 0.
The Remark field is for any additional information you may want to note down.
Click Apply button to save the settings to this billing plan.
Go back to the billing plan list page and enable the desired billing plans.
Click apply at the bottom of the page
to activate your billing plan settings.
Navigate by pressing the Increment or Decrement buttons on SDS100
to display the plan number "2" and press the Enter button,
an instant account will be generated and printed out through PRT100.
With the issued ticket, the customer can now open his or her laptop
and click the wireless icon on the lower right taskbar.
Connect to the wireless network with the SSID "HSG200-2".
If you cannot find this SSID, please click "Refresh Network List" and try again.
