What really motivates us is trying to show off Columbus.
We're really proud of our city and all the great things
happening here, and we really want to share
that with other people.
And we offer guided food tours.
A food tour is a cross between a progressive dinner and a
guided tour.
We take people around Columbus and show them the best food
and drink I think Columbus has to offer.
We generally do five to six tours a week.
And the tour usually will last three to four hours.
We'll visit between five to seven different restaurants.
On the course of the tour, they're
learning about the business.
And they might get a chance to go in the kitchen, meet the
chef, meet the owner.
Columbus is actually surprisingly diverse.
We have a really great independent restaurant scene.
We have a lot of small producers, artisan producers,
like Jeni's Ice Cream.
One of the things that's fun about food tours, I think, is
we get such a wide cross section of people.
People that are interested in food.
The kind of people that enjoy travel and enjoy having new
experiences and want to try different things.
And we find that people are willing to drive from all over
the state to come and try our business.
People find us through word of mouth.
But probably the number one thing is
people finding us online.
A lot of people do Google searches for interesting
things to do in Columbus.
We use our website for everything.
We don't have a physical location, so our website is
our storefront.
It's our interaction with our customers.
It's the first thing that they generally see about us.
We sell tickets.
We sell gift certificates.
We have an overview of the different tours that we do.
We have five different itineraries as our way to
showcase our product and answer questions.
The website really is such an amazing opportunity to show
off what you do.
Because our customers come from all over the place, being
online is crucial.
I don't think that we could run our business
without being online.
