Hey, moms, it's getting cool outside.
And as the weather changes,
I've got a great project to keep your kids busy...
these fingerless gloves!
Now, how fun are these?
These are great for slumber parties,
for play dates, for birthday parties,
and what a great gift these would make.
So I'm going to show you how to make this super-easy project.
Now, I've started just with a pair of basic socks.
Now, you can use a pair of socks that your kids already have.
Maybe you have a bunch that are already mismatched,
and that would be really fun too.
So, to begin, you're going to take your socks.
And what I'm going to do is flip them over
so you can see the heel here.
Now get your kids and get their hand,
and, to measure, you're going to have them place their hand
next to the sock.
And you can kind of just eyeball
where we need to make a slit for the thumb.
And you want to make a hole,
and this is what their thumb's going to go through,
to actually make a glove.
So just do a little snip,
and you can help them out with this.
Now, remember, this is going to stretch,
so you don't have to make a large hole at all.
Then you're going to flip your sock over,
and using a pair of scissors,
you're going to trim right below the seam of the toe.
So go ahead and trim that off.
And these are really cute
because then you still have the pink on the two ends.
Then...this is the fun part.
You can get all your craft supplies out
to start making your fun faces.
I'm just going to use felt,
but you can use pom-poms, wiggle eyes;
you can even make yarn hair for the little girl socks.
So I've gone ahead and I've cut out my eyes.
I've even made little eyebrows, and I've made a set of lips.
Now, remember, when you're making the lips,
go ahead and make one large piece
and then you can just snip it down the middle.
Now, I've used fabric tape to attach them,
but you can even use fabric glue if you already have that.
I've already attached these,
so I'm going to lay them next to each other
and make sure they line up before I tape them down.
So go ahead and just apply your double-stick tape to the back.
Press it down.
Now I'm going to go ahead and do this
for all the pieces of the face.
Okay, so I'm going to add the last piece to complete our face.
And there you go!
Super simple!
You've got a great, fun, easy project
to keep those little hands warm all fall.
