What is the best alternative to quicken for Mac?
Is getting a Microsoft Windows machine an option?
I want an alternative to Quicken, not the iOS.
You could try iBank. I heard that you can import Quicken files to it and use it to do
all the functions you use Quicken for, from tracking accounts to checking bank accounts
via your iPhone.
Someone was telling me that you can attach photos to transactions, but that really doesn’t
serve a purpose unless you think your check register looks prettier that way.
Mint.com is a viable alternative. You put all your financial data online to track spending
and investments.
I don’t want all my financial data online, even if the NSA has access to all of it anyway.
Try MoneyWell. It is a Mac money app with a long track record.
It uses the buckets of money system for budgeting. And you can’t use it to track a stock portfolio,
just track spending.
Use Buddi if all you need to do is track bank accounts and credit cards. And it can handle
a budget.
I need to track business expenses and investments, not just create an online budget and check
register.
EasyMoney lets you track expenses and revenue as well as personal accounts. Checkbook is
a simpler version of that app, but it has fewer features, too.
I need something that can handle personal and business accounting.
GNUCash handles both personal and business accounting. And it is free.
And it is Open Source, so it works on iOS but has less support than I’d like.
Then you wouldn’t like KMyMoney, since it is an open source Quicken rival. You might
like Cha-ching.
I always like getting change as long as I don’t lose it.
Cha-Ching is a financial app. It even syncs with your Mac, so you can enter transactions
on your iPhone and have the main application update.
I like the sound of that.
