Machining inside of TopSolid'Cam 7 is easy and it doesn't matter whether you're machining a simple 2D wire frame or a solid.
In this sample, we are going to show you how easy it is to machine either.
Here we are going to start by selecting a cutting tool,
and then selecting some simple 2D geometry. Here we will select that base profile and add an island too it by selecting that outer profile.
As soon as we do that, we will see our tool path has been created.
On the sample to the right, we will do the same thing but in this case we are going to do it a little easier. We will just select the top face,
drag down our grip, and like that, the resulting tool path is identical. And what we wanto to show you hear is again it does not matter whether you
machine a simple 2D profile or a solid model.
A solid model might be simpler to machine because we can make some choices for you but you can easily achieve both with inside of TopSolid'Cam 7.
Let's have another sample. Here we are going to apply a chamfering operation. We will select a chamfer mill,
and then we will select the profile that we want to machine. Like that our tool path is generated.
Let's do the same thing over on the right. This time we will just select a face and again our tool path is created.
And here you see the simulation...they are both identical.
Let's have one last sample.
We are going to go ahead and create some drillings.
We will select the 2D profiles on the left and the solid cylinders on the right and again you'll see that the tool path is identical. Everything is calculated the same way.
