Matar Paneer is a very delicious indian main course recipe
Today I'm going to make Matar Paneer
Lets see the ingredients required for making matar paneer
For making it we will need
Green Peas - 2 1/2 cup, you can also take frozen green peas
Cottage Cheese - 200 gm, diced
Tomato - 5, chopped
Cilantro - 2 tbsp, finely chopped
Green chilly - 1
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Cashew nuts - 8 to 10, soaked in milk for 1 hr
Fenugreek leaves - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp, adjust to taste
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Whipped Cream - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 2 tsp, optional
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Oil - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Lets start making Matar Paneer
Boil Green Peas for 5 minutes
Put green peas into the pressure cooker
Add some water
Turn on the gas
As our green peas boil, in the mean time we will make tomato puree
Add tomatoes, ginger and green chillies in the mixer jar
Also add cashew nuts
Now make a fine puree of these
It has whistled once, now turn off the flame
Out tomato puree is also done
Now, we will make green peas gravy
Put oil in a pan and turn on the heat
Oil is heated, now add Cumin Seeds
Add asafoetida
Add Coriander Powder
Add puree
Cashew nuts enhance the flavour of gravy as well as thickens it
Add turmeric powder
Add Red chilly powder
Cook it until oil starts to separate
Open the cooker lid, green peas have boiled
Add fenugreek leaves to the gravy
Fenugreek leaves give a nice aroma to it
Oil has started to separate
Now add salt
Add boiled green peas to this gravy
Add cottage cheese
You can fry the cottage cheese before adding to the gravy or can also add it raw
Coot it for 5 minutes
Matar Paneer is ready
Turn of the gas
Add cilantro
Now we will take it out in a bowl and garnish with cream
Turn it into a serving bowl
Garnish it with cream
Matar Paneer is ready
You cab serve it with naan, roti, puri or rice
You can have it in lunch or dinner
