What's good it's Fevir. Welcome to my Garuda boss guide. The third of the primals and the
cause of oh so many tears and broken dreams.
This fight has a bunch going on but once you know what to- she goes down fast
The Garuda encounter is split into 2 phases- based on those 4 stone pillars in the middle
of the battlefield. These stone pillars are used to line of sight some of Garudas very
powerful attacks. They have health and can actually be destroyed and the first phase
is all about protecting them.
Garuda has a couple of attacks that are persistent throughout the entire fight. She has a full
360 degree melee strike that cannot be avoided, a casted frontal cone attack that can be avoided
called Slipstream- beware though, Slipstream does not employ a red telegraph on the ground
so your tank needs to be paying attention to her cast bar. Garuda also has a ranged
attack that is unavoidable, but does strike in an AoE. All of these abilities can damage
the stone pillars so position yourselves away from the pillars in order to preserve them.
After playing with Garuda for a bit she briefly becomes untargetable and she moves to the
outskirts of the battlefield. This is your queue to line of sight Garuda as she's about
to unleash a powerful attack that will probably kill you without a rock inbetween you. After
using her attack once you may move away from the pillars and engage her normally. A couple
seconds after she spawns Razor Plume ads. These ads will move towards the stone pillars
and it's your DPS's job to kill them. Seperating which pillars they should protect is important,
especially with casters because of wasted casting time.
Garuda will become untargetable again and fire off another attack that you must line
of sight before summoning more ads.
The next time Garuda becomes untargetable she will teleport to the middle and cast a
very powerful ability, Reckoning. This attack deals damage to everyone even if line of sighted
but the damage is reduced based on how much remaining health points the pillar you're
hiding behind has. Consider everyone going to the tallest pillar and using a defensive
limit break and abilities.
After this attack the battlefield becomes smaller and there are no more pillars. Stay
spread out and deal with all the same mechanics you already have dealt with. Garuda will summon
ads but this time will attack the players as their are no stone pillars to keep the
occupied with. Garuda will again become untargetable but this time with no pillars your only choice
is to the opposite end of the battlefield to avoid the damage. Failing to do so results
in a one shot. This is illustrated by the silly Mi'qote in the video... almost causing
us to wipe... silly cat people.
After you've evaded that attack you can breathe a sigh of relief and just wail away at her
until she goes down for real...
Unfortunately no loot.. but a really cool cutscene follows. Anyways- that's Garuda.
