Hello everyone! In this video I wanted to talk to you all about the benefits of using
a sugar scrub on face, lips and body. I will also be going over some of the benefits from
ingredients used in the organic raw sugar scrubs created by Nature's Addiction. Let's
begin, shall we!
Well, if moisture is the name of the game then sugar scrubs are better for very dry
skin than are salt scrubs. Sugar scrubs are also better for sensitive skin than salt scrubs.
Now, having sensitive skin myself, I can contest to this fact. I reserve salt scrubs for select
body parts, but only use sugar scrubs when dealing with my face. Salt scrubs on the face
of a sensitive person will cause redness and irritation. I am not demonizing salt scrubs.
They have amazing benefits as well, and Nature's Addiction does sell a Dead Sea and Mediterranean
Sea Salt scrub. But this video is to highlight the strengths of the sugar scrub, so that
you can choose what is best for You. Another thing is that raw sugar does not absorb
oil from the skin, which may be what you are looking for if you want to exfoliate and moisturize.
However, keep in mind that this also means that sugar scrubs do Not absorb toxins from
the pores of the skin. Exfoliating with Sugar scrubs will leave you with soft and renewed
skin. For face a lips (yes, lips, because none of
us want those cracking peeling lips), the scrub may be used 1-2x weekly, depending on
skin tolerance. It is crucial that you do not forcefully rub the scrub into your face.
You must be gentle on your face and lips. Sugar scrubs may be used daily in the shower.
Please remember that this will make your shower floor slippery. I prefer salt and sugar scrubs
to fruit seed or nut shell scrubs because the granules dissolve in water and do not
sit at the bottom of the tub or clog up pipes. Ridding the body of dead skin cells with reveal
the younger and healthier skin cells that your body has produced.
Nature's Addiction offers 3 different sugar scrubs and I will go over the benefits of
some of the ingredients. I will cover the salt scrub in another video.
The Emerge and Honey Love are both emulsified scrubs. The difference between the two, is
that the Honey Love contains raw organic holistic local honey. Raw Organic Honey is gentle on
all skin types. Absorbs toxins to detoxify the skin. High in antioxidants, therefore
promotes younger looking skin. Moisturizing, yet highly suitable for oily skin.
Both of the scrubs contain the following: Cranberry Seed Oil: Which is Antibacterial,
rich in antioxidants and has a natural balance of Omegas 3, 6 and 9. This balanced trio is
not found in Any other oil. It Provides lipid barrier protection and increases moisture
retention. Sal Butter: From the Sal Tree, this butter
will melt at skin temperature, spreads easily and will leave skin ultra soft. It is a Natural
emollient. It Increases flexibility of skin and decrease premature skin cell degeneration.
Walnut Oil: Contains Omega 3 Fatty Acids, fights wrinkles and fine lines. Is an Antioxidant,
antifungal, and helps with psoriasis. These are just a few of the ingredients.
We also offer a Brown Sugar and Oat Scrub called Beneath
the Surface. This scrub also contains Walnut Oil, which
I have already gone over. The Brown Sugar and Oat scrub clearly has
Colloidal Oatmeal which helps to soothe irritated skin. Moisturizes and is friendly for all
skin types, has protein and polysaccharides which help build your skins natural defense
barriers, calms inflammation and matches your skins pH of 5.
It has Unrefined Organic Shea Butter which is a very healing nut butter. Shea butter
is one of the most healing of all nut butters, while still providing excellent moisture.
Great for wrinkles, itchy skin, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, blemishes and other skin conditions.
Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil is Antibacterial, Antifungal and Antimicrobial, it is ideal
for eczema and psoriasis. It also has naturally occuring Lauric Acid of which we could go
on and on about the healing properties and it is a lightweight moisturizer. It protects
against sun damage, prevents cellular aging and more.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil aka Liquid Gold, is also a very healing oil as well as cleansing
oil. Black castor oil decreases the frequency of acne outbreaks. Creates tight, soft, supple
skin. May lighten age/liver spots and prevent or decrease the appearance of stretch marks.
The agave, castor oil and vegetable glycerin act as skin protectants and also help to trap
moisture inside of the skin. They increase the overall effectiveness of the other ingredients
within the recipe All of the scrubs contain pure vitamin E,
which a power anti aging antioxidant ingredient. So, I know that that was a lot to take in,
but hopefully it shined some light onto why people go goo-goo ga-ga over sugar scrubs.
Not only are they healthy for your skin and make your skin more beautiful, they also smell
absolutely yummy! But as delicious as they smell, the essential oils that we use do make
them inedible. Oh well! I hope that this has been helpful to you. This is your singing
Bohemian beauty here to help you achieve better hair, better skin, better you, naturally.
Signing off! 'Til next time!
