Welcome to the SLOT-C Database, created by the MTPC program of Auburn University.
SLOT-C stands for Service Learning Opportunities in Technical Communication. You can find us
online at www.slotc.org.
The SLOT-C Database connects university instructors who are looking for service learning opportunities
for their communication courses with nonprofit organizations that need help with their communication
projects.
Nonprofit organizations that create entries in the SLOT-C Database get great help with
their communication projects, as well as the opportunity to mentor and inspire students.
Instructors who use the SLOT-C Database can help prepare college students to become technical,
business, and scientific communicators by providing them with real-world access to projects
such as writing instructions and grant proposals, creating marketing materials and online tutorials,
and designing websites. Instructors can also give students access to their database so
they can search on their own for meaningful work with nonprofit organizations.
Please see our other tutorial videos for specific tips for students, instructors, and nonprofit
organizations.
Feel free to contact us via email at slotcdatabase@gmail.com, or go to our “Contact Us” page and fill
out the contact form. Thank you for your interest in the SLOT-C Database!
